    I Need help....with sound file...

I recently downloaded MSTS BNSF 3GS21B Genset Two Pack and was successful in getting all the correct files for shapes, and a cabview to work but have been unable to find the sound file necessary to make it work. I went to the original site for the sound, but could not find a download. Can anyone please help this Texas newbee. Thanks very much.

The downloads on that site are for members only so did you register?

Yes, registered and could not find the site. Got user name and password. Can access the site, but where is file. Site owner apparently has shut down part of the site...Please help...When I run MSTS and select those trains it will load after several error messages. It runs okay on the track, but absolutely no engine sound or horns.

Thanks so much for pointing me in the direction of the sound file I needed. There were no instructions on where to put the files in the trainset or if there needed to be some editing on the files. I created a Sound Directory in the trainset under the engine name and put the extracted filed into it. Did it for both engines. When I run the program, if get error messages: failed to find SMS file file:..\\..\\MC_EMD645\eng\645boots.(Not all the message) and get the message twice, so I guess it for both engines. Is there a simple way to put the correct files in the MSTS Program. This is way over my head. Guess I will have to scrap these engines. I really wanted the UP set but it takes the same files as the BNSF. Does anyone see a way out of this mess. As a newbee to this hobby, why doesn't the person who uploaded the file put all the requred files in the upload to avoid conflict like this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Create a new folder in your trainset, name it MC.SND and put the MC_EMD645 folder in there.

Blake's right on the head there. Then if you put that alias line that it's looking for into the sound lines in your ENG file, it should go directly there then. Matt's got some awesome sounds, and once you get the hang of how he has them organized and aliased, I think you'll really like them.
