    F40 sound trouble

    Hi All

I was checking my Engines for errors. Having trouble with Amtrak F40 Sound problem

    any ideas on help

    thanks Daniel

The sound file ../EMDF40/Alias/x_f40_bell1.wav specified by the file ../../Common.Snd/EMD_F40/Alias/F40EngHEP.sms does not exist in the folder
    C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\MSTS\TRAINS\TRAINSET\AMTKF40\SOUND
If this file is aliased it should exist in ../../Common.Snd/EMD_F40/Alias/ .
The error was found on this line:
    Discrete_Trigger ( 10 StartLoopRelease ( 1 File ( "../EMDF40/Alias/x_f40_bell1.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection ) ) )

Deleting the alias folder will fix it.

Or you can do what I do and simply ignore it.

The other thing is to copy an appropriate bell from another engine to your desktop, rename it x_f40_bell1.wav and cut and paste it to the folder in Common.SND Remember, 'X' sounds are usually mono, and internal sounds are stereo. So be careful if you find CabBell.wav and rename it to X_f40, as it probably will sound really odd.
