I am reskinning a W&OD 70Tonner which has caused me to think about that 70 tonner sounds are unavailable in msts. I'll probably alias a 44 tonner, but it isn't the same engine sound at all. So, just putting that out there . . . it would be appreciated to have sounds if anybody is inspired.

Quoted fromi) The engine used, starting in the mid 1940s, on the GE 70-tonner (and on
some similarly sized locomotives built by other builders) was an ancestor, the
Cooper-Bessemer "FWL" (or "FWL-T"). Same cylinder dimensions, and I don't know
how much further resemblance (power assembly construction?). Six cylinder,
in-line, lower per-cylinder power rating than the contemporary Alco 244 engine
used on contemporary full-size Alco-GE diesel locomotives.

This sound zip should be accurate, at least for now.
Really? Wow, didn't know that affecting GE units then (although I did know there is some relation between modern GE engines and alco).
The GE 70 Tonner has 600 hp, almost the same as an Alco S1 or S3 with it's 539 engine. There is no msts sound specific to a 660 hp alco, so far as I know, but there are distinct 539 and 244 alco sounds (which sound different, although it may not be the engine that is the biggest contributor to the difference.). Would the 70 Tonner be closer to a 539 or 244?
I have pretty good 44 Tonner sounds which are distinctive in their prominent generator whine. The 70 Tonner had the same trucks as the 44 Tonner, did it not? So maybe the 44 Tonner sounds would still be closer even if the engine sound wasn't?
I've only heard a 70 tonner once (the Belfast & Mosehead Lake RR) and that was before discovering train simulation. The sounds didn't make much of an impression on me. I tried to go over to youtube to find evidence of what you are saying, but for some reason youtube is not functioning for me (neither chrome nor ie). I'll try later.
