    GP38 Compressor?

    Hi guys,

Anyone noticed how the GP38 compressor plays at twice the rate it's supposed to? If you open the gp_compressor.wav file and listen to it you'll hear the normal rate it's supposed to play at.

Is there any way to fix this other than slowing down the .wav file and making it twice the size?

    Thanks,
    Alex

    RE: GP38 Compressor?

    Hi

Actually, for some reason, most GP38's are using the Dash9's
    compressor sound.

To fix these, you need to edit the sms files in the Sound
directory and point the compressor sounds to the right sound
file. At least I think that's what I did ;-) Don't have the
time to dig farther right now.

      RE: GP38 Compressor?

That's correct guys.... This came up in the early days and I don't remember who found it but there was a hullabaloo over it...
      Here's the scoop....
The GP38 is using a compressor sound sample that should be on a dash 9 as it is an electric powered compressor...

The Dash9 is using a compressor sound sample that should be on the GP38 as it is for a "belt driven" compressor!

The answer is to "flip" these two (actually 4 sound samples)

Thanks for the heads-up on the compressors!!

Always thought the GP38 compressor sounded like a Volkswagen.
