Two Blue Poles and White Line.

It took four days to lay roads around Brockville. This morning I started selecting each section and hitting "Y" to bring the terrain to the bottom of the road. A few minutes into this I selected a piece and got the dreaded "end to end" error. I was able to remove the pieces on either side of the offending piece. I did a tdb rebuild and the error didn't clear. Did another and although the error didn't clear, I was able to select the piece of road and hit delete. Instead of deleting it completely, I'm left with one while hanger line and the poles at each end of the line.

Anyone know how to remove this?

    Paul :-)

I wouldn't remove it --- I'd hang my laundry on it. ( my deepest apologies Paul...could not resist )

Ya, I couldn't resist saying some things either!

I had to register in UK TrainSim to download a utility to remove nodes from the RDB... still waiting for a password.

Aren't road pieces in the .rdb, rather than the .tdb? If so, that might explain the .tdb rebuild not touching it.

In either case, if you have TSRE, you can use some of the 'hacks' functions to correct the issue

I'll give hacks a try and see what happens. I haven't found any manual for TSRE yet!

The RDB lists it's nodes at Track Nodes.

                Just to let you know...

Followed Vince's instructions in the "Book" regarding the hacks to remove the RDB line (the instructions are for a TDB line, just hoped it would work on the road problem I'm having)... but it didn't.

Still waiting for someone at UK TrainSim to reply with a password for me to be able to download the utility they have for removing the nodes.

                Paul :-)

It worked after seven tries! I thought I would try again but since there was only one hanger line I though I would try a piece of Freeway road with only one lane. Followed Vince's instructions for removing a track hanger line in the Hacks menu and it worked!

Paul, that's excellent, happy you found success. Pete Willard put together the TSRE pdf and published it on github...and thanks gotta go to Vince Cockeram (sp?) for learning TSRE while reworking the PRR East route, providing lots of information for Pete to put together the manual.
                    Cheers, Gerry

                      Hi Gerry,

No, spoke a little too soon. The two poles might have been removed along with the white hanger line but there is still one blue pole that remains. OR's log indicated one error in the RDB and a second one on the TDB. I corrected the one in the TDB, and OR now shows just the one RDB error that is the single blue pole. Running a TDB rebuild hasn't solved the error.

The TrackNode is easily found in the RDB, number 55 and it's the one with a TrPin ( 0 0 )... tempted to just delete it but all TrackNodes are sequentially numbered and I'm wondering what's going to happen. Also remember the tracknodes being in more then one place, but where?

                      Paul :-)

Paul, now that one blue pole rings a bell. If I remember correctly there have been some posts --- here or at ET -- about removing a single blue pole...not being a route builder, I'm wayyy out of my depth here. Sorry.

I'd search using the term "blue pole"
                        Cheers, Gerry

                          Hi Gerry,

I've been able to get rid of blue poles for decades. I did what I usually do and this one won't go away for some reason. I worked around it but even so, it's still there and still needs to be removed.

                          Paul :-)
