"Coming Soon" An updated modern version of the LSR&C route.

Hello Everyone, I have permission from the route creator's to release a updated modern version of the La Salle, Rockford & Central, It should be in the file library soon.

Here are some of the updates that have been done to this version:

    * All track work from Rockford to Granville has be redone.
    * Some switches were changed from a 10 degree turnout to a 5 degree and 6 degree turnout on sidings and crossovers.
    * Joseph Hoevet's crossing signals have been updated and his wayside signals modernized.

Please note that all older activity's for the LSR&C will not work because of the track changes.

Here are some photo's from the updated version:

Any chance of extending the route past Granville as the original author had planned as well? Would be great to have another yard at the other end, or another small jct, type yard like Rockford.

That's great that Nick and Meansy let this one fly. This will make me take that route out again, and want to mod it out.

I could do the track work and create a small yard and small town at the end there, the only thing is I dont know how to mosaic the ground texture to match the exisiting mosaic.

Have the gradients been smoothed out in this version?

I did my best to smooth out the track but I'm not a professional on track gradients, you will have to check it out and see.

Ah okay I got ya. If MSTS was smooth on my laptop, I'd help with the Mosaic process, but sadly, it's a no go for me.

I have the ability to handle the mosaic process. PM me if you want help. I have great affinity for this route and would be willing to lend a hand.

Replacing the bridge and laying track for the Genoa branch would be worth doing as well. Your thoughts?

The Genoa Branch would be interesting, but it would be nice to stick to the original plans the original Authors had for the route. Which is an abandoned Genoa Branch, and continuation into a BNSF or NS yard, past Granville, I forget which railroad..

Update looks great. My only 'gripe' I guess with the original was too many slow downs throughout the route. Running long trains can result in a pretty long run as you never really get a good stretch of higher speeds before you have to slow for another slow board. That said its still one of my all time faves.

The county removed the old bridge so that they can reopen the county dirt road below lol. I left the track on the other side alone, the section of track after the grade crossing and right where it ends before the bridge used to be can be used as a storage track for MOW equipment.

Thanks, I tried to resolve that issue, when your going thru rockford its 35 mph, then when you leave rockford it goes up to 40 mph then after the Genoa Branch Wye it goes up to 50 mph, there are a few slow downs along the route because of some sharp curves.
