    Jingpeng Pass / Jitong-Line

    Hi!

As a german route builder it's a great pleasure to me to present you the most famous Chinese steam route - the jitong-line - in an American trainsim-forum. Perhaps some of you know the route very well cause they're a steam fan like me, but for the others i will first introduce my new route project.

    Sorry for the german information.
Just the facts again in English:

The Jitong-Line is a 945km main line between Tongliao and Jining. I've decided to build the 85km long jingpeng pass and the 50km to the next depot, the famous Daban shed, to get a realistic perspective to complete the route. As you can the on the map the pass has two horseshoe curves and an extra 180 degree turn. The real route was finished in 1995, but was still nine years steam-operated by the big QJ class.

Here you can see pictures from the route, but is suggest you a look on Youtube. The 600m trains pulled by 2 QJ made a great show!

I've just started track building, so don't ask me when the route will be finished.

Water stop at Linxi, just before the pass

    The long reshui viaduct

Shangdian - summit station at 1273m

That's all for now. As you can imagine it is not easy for a German to find enough information about the route to build a precisely duplicate, but i am an experienced route builder since 2002. It won't be an 1:1 realization for sure, but it's my goal to get the scenery of a wide landscape and a great steam theater into our good old trainsim.

If someone has additional stuff like pictures, videos, maps from the route that is not on the web, please feel free to contact me.

    Greetings

    Konstantin

That will be a great line to run Chinese steam on. I wish you the best of luck!

Most of the tracks have been layed. Now it's up to me to fill the scenery.

This will definitely be a nice route for the already existing QJ engines. A much needed thing. Keep up the good work. And I hope you great success.

Is that Scalerail? Where did you get the cement switch textures?

@jmslakings: Yeah, i use Scalerails. I just modified the texture of concrete switches to get them colored as the other track shapes.

The Daban yard, in background the Water Tower for city and depot. Now i started laying roads and infrastructural stuff. Comparison to original.

There are also distant mountains in progress, whereby the route first gets her real face - wide landscape.
