Today marked the 50th anniversary of the Green Mountain Railroad. First shot is a replication of the first ever train to run over the newly formed Green Mountain on April 3rd, 1965. They had the 405, still in Rutland colors, and four empty boxcars destined for the talc mine at Gassetts.
This second shot is what the Green Mountain Railroad is today; A part of the Vermont Rail System, "Serving Vermont industry with pride".

Did I mention mud? Its mud season here, and is turning out to be an exceptionally bad one. Regardless, enjoy your stay and find some trains!Maxwell Brisben

I'll be a little farther south in eastern NY, and western CT/MA areas. Hopefully won't be 'Muddy', although my sister told me to bring my winter jacket, it was snowing again. It hit 80 here yesterday in KC area!
I'm finally going to be in town for one of the CNE tours, to be around 80-90 other rail fans! Two buses full of railroad guys and gals snapping pictures faster that the stereotypical "Japanese tourists" in the movies! Touring some areas that haven't seen tracks in over 80 years! Should be fun!
