    Open Rails v1.5 is here

It's been 13 months since Open Rails 1.4 was published, so I am very pleased to announce that the Stable Version 1.5 of Open Rails is now released.

Details have been posted on the website and there is also a 5-minute video on YouTube.

A big "thank you" to the guys that make this possible; admins, coders, testers, bug reporters and everyone in the community who gives us feedback.

Big Thank You! I most often use the weekly testing versions but this is most appreciated.

Is anyone else having problems with Rail Driver and v1.5? I can only throttle up to notch 5 or 63% of power.

              Thanks

Just curious, does this update the Monogame version or is that a separate entity?

Monogame is a separate branch being developed by Carlo Santucci...Monogame aligns with the main branch and unstable branch --- but contains features not found elsewhere in OR. I've never clearly understood what those features are.

The new stable version 1.5 does have the capability to use ReShade...the new features incorporated in the Ver1.5 are listed on the OR website.
                  Cheers, Gerry

I've noticed, tracks now seem to be a bit more "Grainy"?( to me ) now in this version, but the other "Stuck over" ( almost like MSTS did when It passed certain buffer areas? ) seems to've left now too. I mean, prior versions had some areas that if you weren't careful, seemed there was like a "Sticky" Extra camera between the tracks & cars. But, other than the track, it seems nice. Far better than Prevs.

I've noticed this as well, particularly the terrain that you have painted textures on, gives off a pixelized/grainy look to it from a distance, but when you view it close, it looks smooth like the rest.

Yes, seems to change( running one now ). Nice( your Modern Texture/.Ace btw ), but guess One has to get use to it. There are some ORTS Designed Textured Ones in The F/L, but yours fills in so good along side The BNSF Gallup Sub One( and yes, although can barely see or notice it, SAL Fl & The Birmingham 2; Currently Running uses a certain texture, that once over written, but not so much left on The S-line, traces are still found on the ground, which does give traces of extra dirt ).
And btw, I've watched a YT video stating that Your Railine You work for's getting more power, & some's more SD70M-2s. They'll be upgraded & Iso Cabbed. Good Bye,"Thunder-,Cab"( Esp. In Notch8,lol )!

We are getting 12 more SD70M-2 units, they should be the same cabs we have now, so I'm unsure on that specific upgrade. This will reach the total of 18 SD70M-2's. The GP38-2 and GP40-2 fleet are getting upgraded to GP33ECO's, and I'm unsure what will happen to the SD40-2 fleet, though there are only four still running currently.

Anyways, that's besides the topic here of the odd terrain texture giving off grainy/pixilated textures. I haven't checked the Mullan Pass line yet..

Right, ORTS Only stuff do seem to look & handle( granted, made for it Specifically), differently. I just now like not having a so-called,"Freezeing" camera on certain areas had on the prior 2 versions now gone. And, now guess I'm use to it,..The Fussy Track Textures seem to be gone a tad too now. The slight off Topic had to do with You making sure of what I heard & saw was true or not( & you in-turn said it was & thanks ).

Other things I've noticed: when you continue on a saved Activity, The Conductor's #6 View From The Front Stair Area of The Locomotive ( On a Diesel ), seems to change to up close to Caboose(?) Conductor Back/Rear View for extra #3 Vew instead. Plus, while speaking on that, I've noticed the wheels on the rear car seems to want to jump or "wobble back & forth now. Not really a problem. Might be a quick fix, but My Observation's all.
