Cant add MSTS library into OR on Win11

    Hello Guys.

I have a problem with OR, i am using win 11 on my pc, and i just installed OR.

When i want to browse my MSTS library the window that comes up only shows my Desktop library but it wont open, i cant select anything.

I tried using older versions of OR but the problem still occurs, i also tried running as an administrator, running in compatibility mode win7 & win8 but nothing seems to be working.

I never had this issue on win 10.

I don't realy want to go back to win 10 so if anyone know a solution it would be great.

    Thanks!

Did you download OR from here http://openrails.org/download/program/

...and have you read and followed the download instructions?

        OR will run on win11.

This has nothing to do with OR. This is a OneDrive issue. Are you using OneDrive? Is so, disable desktop backup. Save your desktop contents somewhere first as disabling desktop backup will remove items from your local desktop folder. You can also restore them from the cloud backup.

Yes i downloaded from the site, and followed everything, i installed OR a 1000 time before and never had this issue.

It feels like windows is not granting permission to OR to see my drive, but i tried running as an administrator no luck..

DO NOT USE DESKTOP as a repository for ORTS. Same thing with the drives such as Photos, Documents.

Behind the scenes, my guess is in Win 11, those locations behaves as an aliased drive within the profile vs. a fixed path, and some applications can't handle profile folders.

Create a drive off the root of your preferred drive.

Also don't forget, when installing or running OR (it also applies for other software also), run everything "as administrator".

Winblows 11 is "more secure" then winblows 10....

Well, given there's a folder on your desktop which contains your OR installation (Global, Routes, Sound, Trains) there should be no problems accessing your content via that path. One of my OR installs is within a folder on my Desktop (ex. Trainsim_ORTS), and I have absolutely no issue whatsoever.

I get The now,"Default" MS Message When I do Updates,"This PC's able to Update to W11 by meeting The Min. Reqs.", but not all may run once upgraded all the time now( & have for a while now ), but is it more Secure to The Level Vista was that They @ MS had to "Semi" Tone It Down On W7( wasn't as bad alot has said, but still had to Run as Admin. alot )?

"Winblows"? Really? That's so 2008. Though as of late I have been calling their latest by the name "Windows Vista 11", I admit.

While certainly a good idea to run as admin for software installations, but I've never ever had to run ORTS as admin for reliable normal operation. Actually, not a very good idea at all to run everything as admin. That's just bad form these days, security wise.
