    ACT will not load

    Hi

I am trying to run an Act for ConrailIndy 2 Route but it will not load.

I have attached the Actman report run without the OR box checked, the TRK file
    and the act file.

The ACTMAN report says that the names of the route differ betwwen the TRK file and
    the Act file.

There are several acts supplied with the route but none of them load.

I have used what little knowledge I have to determine where the discrepancy lies
but cannot find any, probably I can't see the forest for the trees.

I would appreciate it if someone would have a look at the situation and let me know
    what the problem is.

There is no log file as the route did not start loading.

    Regards

    Try this:

You have RouteID ( ConrailIndy 2 ) in trk file --- add quotes to read RouteID ( "ConrailIndy 2" )

      Hi Daniel,

Looking through all of the other route names, none of them have spaces.
And given one of the errors mentions conrailindy not conrailindy 2, I suspect that the space needs to come out.
      I am trying it now.

I dunno Derek, my Conrail Indy trk file begins like this ( looking at Route ID line )
          Code:
          Tr_RouteFile (
          	RouteID ( "ConrailIndy 2" )
          	Name ( "Conrail Indianapolis Line 2.0" )
Description ( "Conrail's ex-New York Central "Bee Line" between Avon, Indiana and Marion, Ohio as it appeared circa 1994. This line formed a vital link between the Northeast and Western connections. A substantial amount of traffic also originated in Indianapolis and moved east. This line is now part of CSX's Great Lakes Division as a result of the 1999 takeover of Conrail.\n\n"+
"Principal traffic: Auto parts, finished vehicles, plastics, chemicals, grain, corn syrup, steel. Also some intermodal traffic.\n\n"+
Either way - everything has to match Route ID in trk file so Route ID ( ConrailIndy2 ) should work fine, as long as ALL the the activity files also use the same.
          Cheers, Gerry

            Daniel,

What is the date on your tdb file?

              Hi Gerry,

thanks for your help, you were 99% correct, I put the quotation marks into the Trk file but it made no difference,
then I tried putting underscores into the route ID sections on both ACT and Trk files and removing the Quotation marks
              and all is now 100%.
I'm not sure if removing the Quotation marks was necessary but dinner is on the table so I will leave
              it alone

              Excellent help.

              Thanks again.

              Regards

              Daniel

That is the old version of ci, the new version has a tdb of 2010.

                      Hi

so I have no idea of how to find the date on the TDB file,
I was quoting the oldest date on the files properties
                      which seemed logical to me.

                      I have found a CI v2 uploaded on the 3rd May 2012.

I modified the ID on the trk file to match the changes
I made on the Act files yesterday and I also modified the act filles
supplied with the new version from 3rd May 2012.

I copied over the Traffic, Services and Paths folder from
yesterdays version to the latest one and ran all acts through
ACTMAN, then opened each act in OR ran each for about a minute
                      all are working well.

Big thanks to Gerry Derek and Ged.

                      Regards
