    Gold Spike X

    Hi

    this is not a technical post, more a 71 year old reminicing;
over the years before his passing Otto became as close to
being a personal friend as you can become through a forum
    and email exchanges.

I have been playing with Frank Carver’s MARIAS-KOOTENAI
version of the MARIAS-PASS-3 and René Rump’s WHITEFISH-7-RR
merged as Gold Spike 3 by Frank Carver and Otto Wipfel, all with
    required permissions.

It is a pity that no acts have been written; since OR I have become
more aware of graphics quality and this Route is as good as it gets.

The quality and "feel" are as good as Rich Garber's excellent Routes.

Anyway here's hoping for some Acts for an excellent route.

    Cheers

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

Several years ago, before I was into Open Rails, I tried to develop some activities for Gold Spike Xcellente using the MSTS activity editor. The activity would always start off well but as soon as I added traffic, I would always end up with a head on meet. From the discussions on trainsim.com at the time I found that others were having the same problem. If I remember correctly everyone concluded that the problem was in the signaling and that was way over my head.

It is a beautiful route. Unfortunately, when Otto combined the original routes he missed a few details.

Before activities are written the signaling will have to be cleaned up. It would be nice if somebody out there was up to doing it.

      Hi

thanks for your reply, that explains why no extra acts have been created.

      Hopefully it can be fixed.

      Regards

      Daniel
