Missing Tracks in Rio Grand Southern 4

I am having an issue with the very nice route, Rio Grand Southern 4. I believe I installed (and re-installed) the route correctly, per instructions. However, it seems to be missing certain track sections, particularly at junction switches - i.e., where tracks merge or split apart. Also, a few short straight sections disappear into the underlying turf. So far, I have not discovered any other missing elements, track or otherwise. I have tried adding Xtracks and a few other track systems, all to no avail. Can anyone point me to a source for tracks that might fit, or any other solution? Thank you very much.

An OpenRailsLog.txt will tell us what's missing and perhaps why.

Thanks Gerry. I assume this is "off," or do I need to zero everything?

Yes -- level set to zero is off. You don't need to zero everything.

NOTE: if this does not work --- Please follow Derek's advice - attach a complete log to help people troubleshoot the problem.

( honestly, I'd be surprised if it does work )

Thank you gentlemen. I am attaching the log file as suggested. Wow, a whole lot of Warnings. Things missing that I never would have noticed. Maybe I should go back to square one with this route.

                Hi Kent-2,
It looks like you haven't installed the files from rgsv4-global.zip!!

                Cheers,

Well, I hope he gets it going. It is a great route, even better than the Mega Colorado route. RGS gave up the ghost in 1951. In preparing some units of education for the "Friends of the C&TSRR" I covered the history of that line as it was loosely related to the D&RGW narrow gauge. For most of it's existence, many RGS engines were loaners from daddy so to speak.

The instructions are pretty clear that this needs to be a mini-route.

Those missing track shapes "N1T.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" are in the RGSv4-Global.zip file referenced above as well as the full download ( download 85190 as a full download, or 85191 for the Global directory files only )

Yes, it does have to be a mini-route. One of the neat thiings I find about ORTS is that you can have several mini routes or clones of MSTS on your system and ORTS can create a list of them so that when you run it, you just specify the install you want to use and it will handle it and then let you know what routes are in it. Another route like that is the Bernina Pass route which Lukas Lussar and his friend in Italy along with "others that we forgot" put together. Very accurate. Lukas wife has a cousin that is a "driver" on the Rhb on that line.

Oops. Well I had copied and inserted the entire GLOBAL folder. But, I now realize that my installation is not a proper "Mini-Route." I will fix that. And BTW, should RGS4 be located among MSTS routes, or elsewhere? Thanks again to all who chimed in here. I'm learning ...

One more question, if you don't mind. (It is related to the main topic, I believe.) While trying to assemble the mini-route, I see that it includes a "ROUTES" folder which, in turn, contains a recursive copy of the entire route. This redundancy seems to consume an unnecessary amount of real estate on my hard drive. Can I just delete it?

                            Hi Kent-2,
If you follow the instructions (from rgsv4-instructions.zip) you will have no problem whatsoever running the route in Open Rails!

Your last but one post mentioned "located among MSTS routes". If you follow the instructions you should not have any other routes in the ROUTES folder.

From your last post, the ROUTES folder should have only one sub-folder - RGS-V4. This contains all the files necessary to create the route. I don't understand "contains a recursive copy of the entire route" - maybe you've NOT followed the instructions??

                            Cheers,

Well, RGS4 is now a mini-route, if I did it correctly. At least it now contains a semi-complete copy of MSTS. But, I'm still seeing a lot of warnings in the OR Log, and the missing track sections are still missing. I did overwrite the entire GLOBAL folder with a freshly downloaded copy, and just to make sure I re-copied all of the N1T shapes. Ugh, problem remains. Am I out of options?
PS- I am quite fond of mountain routes, with their alternating ups and downs - a fun driving challenge. I especially enjoy Bernina Pass.
