As discussed with Neil awhile ago, I've decided to try something new, and create some how to videos for ORTS, to help folks out a bit with proper EOT's, air hoses, etc.

Here is the first video, going over the EOT's and how to add and remove them.

Alright, riddle me this trainmen!
Heading West, I pulled my train into a small yard in the lead engine; dropped my cut of loaded cars on yard track one; switched to the trailing engine, exited the yard, and ran back East in the opposite direction on the main; then backed (West again) into the yard still in the trailing engine onto yard track two to grab an empty cut of cars so I can head back East to where I started my activity.
When I try to connect an EOT, it always wants to place it on the front of the trailing engine I switched to to run back East (both being player engines).
How can I get the EOT on my last wagon?

I haven't tested this in a run around scenario, but I will test it out later today and see what's up.

I have managed to remove them for the end of the train, set off the rear cars, and then attach it to the new rear end, and it worked out fine.



So I set up an activity to see if I could replicate what you are talking about. Mission accomplished. I tried a few things, nothing seemed to have done the trick, so not entirely sure how to fix this issue, Maybe Erick has an idea, this also could be a fluke with how ORTS handles reverse movements..

Try either the Ash Grove Cement switch activity or the Herzog ballast car fetch activity from Mullan. See if the EOT changes ends along with the activity flow. Neither of those activities used the wag file EOT.

I have a question about the positioning of the EOT --- in most of the screenshots, front or rear the EOT is off to the side of the coupler, the actual off-side position appears to be inconsistent. Shouldn't they look like this? This is from a screenshot I took and I'm trying to figure how it hooked up like this.

This is how it should sit. The hooks should be inside the groves on the side of the knuckle.



Only time I seen an issue like that, is on some of the dated msts woodchips cars. Everything else the marker sits as it should, so I'm thinking it has more to do with the car, than it does Erick's markers.
