It's funny, as I was thinking yesterday that it had been quite a while since TS released a new (non-route related) product. These look nice, but with so many options, I was hoping to see a more modern-era release.

Novel Idea? >>> perhaps an agreement with an existing payware provider ( TrainSimulations ) to sell an existing but currently unavailable payware route on their site. A route that is still considered one of the best payware routes ever made for MSTS --- and still looks excellent in Open Rails.

I purchased the WP pack today. Very impressive. Of course the first thing I did was run them across the Keddie Wye.

Bought it. Nice release. No I can go on with my primary hobby; replacing older content with new stuff 😁

I will likely purchase this latest offering from TrainSimulations, but it brings up a vexing question that no one ever seems to answer: Why is it that so many content makers seem totally obsessed with producing pre-2000 era content and very little interest in producing much contemporary content? Is it a nostalgia thing? Does current railroad operations just remind people too much about how the world is today? TrainSimulations, in particular, seems stuck in a 1970s-1990s time warp. Is this what their marketing surveys are telling them that is popular? I'm curious.

There is simply much more 1980s railroading to cover than 2020's railroading. Today, only the rebuilds offer a sampling of variety, and even then they all have the same cab, same window arrangement, etc, as any new loco.

Nice to see TS do more of the 70s-80s content. Slowly but surely they're picking up the pieces Diesels West left behind. Would love to see them go beyond EMD and try GE U-Boats.

As for contemporary, they have represented that era enough as is IMHO.

I'm personally a fan of the 80s and 90s content, but if there's one thing we can all agree on, hopefully it's the freight cars since a lot of the cars (while they may be near end of life) are still running around today. Loved the stock included with the new pack!

Just finished running the new new SLI set.... and..... just.... wow...

I like the GP40's, but the freight cars alone are well worth the purchase.

Yes, it is an extraordinary set.

There's a Ford Fast Westbound activity for DRGW GreenRiver, then a continuation on the Soldier Summit from Helper to Provo with the Westbound Ford FAST Soldier Summit act. Too bad there's no connecting route to Reno to Portola then down the WP3.

Nice video Eric thanks for the heads up. There's also an "In The Railyard" video on YouTube from when the route was originally released. https://youtu.be/4T6VcSfxJqU?si=H8N0o6XrEdavWAMJ
