    Roseville sub (Donner Pass) v1.2

I noticed the updated version of this freeware route today just appeared in the file section and thought I'd see how it compares with 3DTrainstuff's payware version. (rather well actually). As it only comes with one activity I d'loaded the ffan_3 act in the file library, which is all I could find in activities for the freeware route. Sadly OR crashes on startup with what looks like a pathing issue so I'm assuming the trackbase has changed from the original?

Hey, if you could, I'd appreciate perhaps seeing some screenshots, or more verbal-details into the scenery, etc. I'm unable to d/l the route, due to being limited only to a marginal laptop right now.

I'll be running the route in a day or so and will take some screenshots then, unless someone else does it first.

The path of the act is broken. Use Trackviewer to fix the error. Path is broken in two places and you can use manual autofix.

There’s also the UP auto-carrier activity (up_amich.zip) in the library. It’s a pretty decent one.

My AMICH activity has some broken paths on the new route and a few loose consists that shifted. I fixed it and am currently working on uploading an updated version to the file library. The scenery is fantastic on the revised route.

Many thanks for the heads up. I'll wait for David to re upload the act once he's corrected it.

Many thanks. I'm unfamiliar with TrackViewer but I'll read the manual and see if I can get my old brain into gear.

                  UPDATE
Ok I delved into TrackViewer and corrected all the broken paths and nodes that I could but the SP Intermodel path still appears to be broken. log attached

Couple of screenshots from Donner. I'm very impressed with this route.

                      Nick,

Those are great images, and I have downloaded the route but have not installed it yet.

I have updated the original route to include the original line over Donner that had all the tunnels and snow sheds above Donner Lake but I haven't added any structures on those additions. The only problem was that the coordinates of the original route were quite different than Google Earth but I was able to adjust the connections to where I don't believe the known error is so obvious. I guess I will go ahead when I get back from a Gate One tour we leave for, tomorrow, and put it in the "incomplete" category. The summit tunnel that has been in use for several years reduced the gradient considerably and I think the original line was abandoned in the early 1990s.

I've run into the same issue on the improved Pokey route that Kinny sent me so to avoid messing up Williamson, WV I made the revisions north (railroad west) of the tunnel at the north end of Williamson, and I am re-aligning the Pond Creek branch just as it leaves Williamson, but south of the Tug Fork River.

Well I'm guessing the trackbase has been changed since those acts were compiled? At least the supplied act appears to run correctly and for a freeware route I find it very impressive.
                        Regards,

                        Nick

If anyone has the time and inclination to look at the ffan_3 activity ( SP Intermodel ) and manage to fix the pathing issue, I'd be much obliged.
