Nice.
Now all they have to do is mate these cars with a canvas top to create DDG/protein cars. Make it a trainset by creating some BNSF Tier 4 locos (Love the 80's stuff, but gotta throw a bone to the 2010 crowd once in a while.)
Would also love to see a flatcar/loads pack. 89 footer with auto frames, rail wheel loads, windmill base tower sections, long pipe sections, any kind of structural steel high/wide loads.
In June's Model Railroad News, see MAC Rail's protein hopper cover kit and find out how easy it is to turn a coal car into this interesting prototype.
Shur-Co® Rail ensures fast and easy operation by a single person from the ground. We’ve applied the knowledge gained from providing cover and containment systems for hauling distillers grain in the design of our rail car covers.

But paypal wants too much unnecessary information lately, so I declined to complete the order.
Besides there are now JAIX and TILX hoppers with the tops.

The Somerset gons are quite a bit overweight. They went back to metric tons for this pack and they are listed at 141 metric tons, which equates to 155 US tons, which is about 310,000 pounds. But the Somerset gons were only 263,000 cars, not 286,000, so the more realistic figure is 118 metric tons, which is 130 US tons, or 260,000 pounds.
Of course, all the other 286k cars are also overweight slightly with the 141 metric tons figure. 128 or 129 is the more realistic figure. My Open Rails videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClc...1kBPO2A/videos

File specifies: Mass ( 141t-us ) --- this is the correct OR UoM for US tons....not metric. Which = 127.913 metric tons
The plans I have show a Gross Rail Load = 129.7274t
OR accepts UoM for mass

The value in the wag file was Mass ( 141t ), not Mass ( 141t-us )My Open Rails videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClc...1kBPO2A/videos

Houston -- We have a problem
I've changed the Name in my files, also the path to include files. sound etc to conform to my setup, however, I have not changed anything else. Purchased these today and download. Take a look.
I have to ask --- did you make any edits to your files? ( from your response above -- the answer is No? )
Wagon line in all my files have "BETHGON" added....I wonder if they have updated the files since first released?
Code:SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0D0t______ Wagon ( NDYX_BETHGON_965168_MT Type ( Freight ) Name ("TS COAL GONDOLA_MT NDYX 965168") WagonShape ( NDYX_BETHGON_965168_MT.s ) Size ( 3.142m 4.483m 16.121m ) comment ( 21.8t empty, 141t full ) Mass ( 21.8t-us ) WheelRadius ( 18in ) include ( "..\\..\\..\\..\\..\\Common.inc\\TS_COMMON_INC _V3\\Couplers\\Type_F_Coupler.inc" ) ORTSNumberAxles ( 4 ) ORTSNumberBogies ( 2 ) ORTSBearingType ( Roller ) Comment ( fcalc - 70 MPH, Standard Roller, 4 axles, A= 148.5ft^2 , Weight = 21.8 us tons, Cd=1.0 ) ORTSDavis_A ( 105.20lbf ) ORTSDavis_B ( 0.3270lbf/mph ) ORTSDavis_C ( 0.072548lbf/mph^2 ) Comment ( Setting standstill friction equal to Davis A per latest AREMA manual statement that starting resistance is neglibible for roller bearings )

I did run things through Conbuilder's analysis tools, and was getting an error on the include statement. I replaced the include line with the actual code, the error went away, and then changed the name line via Conbuilder's 'Edit this unit' function. I wonder if it stripped out the '-us' on the save, with the app not familiar with that unit of measurement? My Open Rails videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClc...1kBPO2A/videos

I would not use ConBuilder for TS new files...they are strictly OR...CoinBuilder is not coded for inc files...so any warnings/errors are nonsense. I'd do a separate/new reinstall from exe file and take a look at the files. I really did think you'd simply misread the mass statement in file...my apologies.

Made consist and tested in route in OR....got warnings about coupler not being found --- none of the cars load...looking into it.
EDIT 1:57pm --- all okay, my error --- include file works fine. No need to copy it into all the wag files...unless that's your procedure. If the include path is correct --- the coupler will load and work.Last edited by R. Steele; 07-09-2024, 15:59.
