I generally don't use include files because I don't like all the similar rail vehicles calling on the exact same code and having the exact same physics.

Conbuilder was indeed the culprit. It does revert to Metric tons when you use the built-in edit function. I changed one boxcar to a mass of 210000lb. Conbuilder edit and save changed it to 210,000 metric tons.

I like their diagnostic tools for sounds evaluation and rail car 'completeness' factors, and there really is no modern alternative, but evidently you cannot use Conbuilder to edit any eng or wag files, even if it is just the name line.

Please be sure that the files below are in your TRAINSET folder. They may not have installed corrrectly, if you are getting a coupler error.

      Regards,
      Jason

P.S. I wouldn't recommend using Conbuilder with the new OpenRails-specific files. Better to use the TSRE consist editor.

I do want to look into allowing randomization of certain physics parameters (don't think it's feasible to arbitrarily add randomization, it would probably have to be implemented case-by-case on the most relevant parameters-like brake force) to offset the monotony of every rail vehicle being identical. This would probably be done as a global setting rather than inside the .eng/.wag file as I imagine it would be tedious going through thousands of files just to type in a little thing that says 'yes you can randomize the friction by 5%'.
