    Sfm

I'm Familiar with Changing the .s File on Cars & Engines but Some Items Call for Using SFM to Edit Files. What is SFM and How Does it Work?
    Thankyou,
    DaveK

It's Shape File Manager, found here: https://www.trainsim.com/forums/file...leid?fid=78928

It lets you uncompress .s files, which then lets you edit the file. It does some other things, too. Other programs do similar things, but Shape File Manager works well.

If you know how to do those steps with Ged's tool and how to use Notepad, it's not needed. But it does simplify the process for those who aren't as technically adept.

Honestly, I'm surprised a .HTA still works in todays app security conscious environment. SFM itself isn't a risk, but HTA's in general aren't exactly safe and have been known to be used for malware.

Shape File Manager has some handy tools for "tweaking" .s files. That said, for simple .s file editing, Archibald is much easier to use and much quicker. Others have posted that they have problems getting Archibald installed and working, but I've installed it with no issue on 6 different computers over the years. I have edited literally thousands of .s files with Archibald. Archibald is part of TK_utils (File ID 11261).
