Lovely sets, of which I have purchased many in the past.
It is specified that Open Rails 1.51 or higher is required. That takes in the newer .eng/.wag parameters, providing a better simulation experience.
Some of the "newer" features of Open Rails are 3D cabs. But 2D Cabs with more than 3 views are also possible.
With every new release I hope that the 3D cab would be part of the project, but it is still not on the menu, why is that?
Back in the Streamline days the 2D cab provided a more "realistic" appearance than what is offered I feel these past years. If a 3D cab is too much work for the return on investment why not update the 2D cabs such that multiple views are incorporated which could also include handles/dials/screens/buttons etc. You are not forced to put all of the 2D moving parts into a single view anymore like in the old MSTS days. You can still use the engine shell when needed for front or rear views that are dynamic in appearance. I would spend a little time looking into this. It is simpler than a 3D cab but better suits the capabilities of Open Rails in the year 202x.
Nice work, something to add to the Black Friday list in November!
