    ET44ACH Problems

    I get this message in my log when trying to run a train with the ET44ACH from the libary. I did not have the problem before and all the sudden I get this.

    Warning: 'C:\TrainSimulations\trains\trainset\BNSF_ET44ACH_ 3300\openrails\..\..\Common.inc\Locomotives\Std_Ty peF_Coupler.inc' not found in C:\TrainSimulations\trains\trainset\BNSF_ET44ACH_3 300\openrails\BNSF_ET44ACH_3300.eng:line 5

    Warning: Expected end of file in C:\TrainSimulations\trains\trainset\BNSF_ET44ACH_3 300\openrails\BNSF_ET44ACH_3300.eng:line 6
    Error: System.IO.FileLoadException: C:\TrainSimulations\trains\trainset\BNSF_ET44ACH_3 300\BNSF_ET44ACH_3300.eng ---> System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: C:\TrainSimulations\trains\trainset\BNSF_ET44ACH_3 300\openrails\..\..\Common.inc\Locomotives

    What is missing a coupler? Should I reinstall them and start over? IDK

    It's looking for the coupler include file in C:\TrainSimulations\Trains\Trainset\Common.inc\Loc omotives ---- do those folders exist in your setup?

      I'm pretty sure that's from Gerry's physics files. You'd hope the readme would mention that sort of requirement, but in any case that physics set is an easy drag and drop install, try the latest version first: https://www.trainsim.com/forums/file...leid?fid=85174

        As Eric posted & Phillip posted --- The eng file in the OpenRails folder is looking for the coupler in the Common.inc Folder --- if you had one it would be alongside the Common.cab and Common.snd folders. If you don't have a Common.inc folder and want to use the locomotives without the OpenRails physics mod eng --- just rename the OpenRails folder to NO-OpenRails. You can make up your Common.inc folder with couplers, brakes and OR engine files if you wish....or download the OR standard engine files found in the library.

        The eng file in the OpenRails is looking for more than couplers, --- probably brakes, and an OR Standard engine file. The physics are very basic in these files, something to get folks started on their own path of making up OR engines and physics.

        The description in the library states:
        5 Pack of BNSF ET44ACHs 3300 to 3650 Uses the Defunct CP Mactier Trainsets these units use The Gerry Storys Advanced Physics
        Either the author of the work did not bother to include the OR physics files or has no understanding of how to make up the Common.inc file. I do not support this work.

        Send me a PM if you're interested in more information.

          I'm at a loss to what files or where to put them. I guess I'm just dumb Sorry. I do have the CP Mactier trains in my setup but it still gives me the error message.

              I'm pretty confident Brandon had no clue what he was doing.

              First, and foremost, he's just repainting and releasing the texture files, ENG file, and readme/credit where due. However, in my opinion, I wouldn't personally include the files needed in the Common.Inc, since they get some sort of update, but no direct support. And that's understandable. Of course, there's some discrepancy in how files like those get passed around.

              As for the file Brandon uploaded, I wonder if he didn't edit the ENG file to add an include line with braking and physics parameters that Gerry provided with such grace.
