    Thanks

You probably have "Signal Light Glow" checked in OR Options and this route has/uses the Signal Light texture that shows in distance.

Is there a proper way to fix said issues? I've attempted it a few times on some older routes with what I've found on here for solutions. Seems to be I either did it wrong, or they don't work appropriately as desired..

If the Route uses the "distance" Signal Light texture then the .ace has to be replaced by the original signal light .ace and the sigcfg.bat rewritten with the corrected size for the lights, or find another Route using the same signals that was not modified and copy the file over.

My solution was to place all the Routes needing to use "Signal Light Glow" into a separate OR folder so I know which ones need the "Glow." Most of my older Routes had been modified to use the distance signal .ace so I only have a handful that need the "Glow."

For resizing of light textures, the new radius will be about 0.1, assuming an 8⅜" lens (I usually use 0.104). Since the signals look like searchlights, they should all be 8s

            Hi,
I unchecked "Signal Light Glow," but I still have the same problem. Even the track monitor is not showing the signals in colour.

I just uploaded a backup of my MacTier route, and it worked fine.

There's a hack somewhere that replaces the signal ACE's for that type of effect... I forget what it was, but yeah, re-installing would do the trick too.

I feel like two features are being conflated here, the Track Monitor issue sounds like the feature that was added a while ago to replace the signal aspects on the Track Monitor but still indicate signal *position* as a grey circle, as shown by the image below. You can toggle this with Shift + F4; it's fairly common for users to accidentally toggle this without realizing what they've done.

As indicated in the above posts, unchecking the "Signal Light Glow" checkbox will undo the doubling effect seen in the screenshot in the first post, this is because many older routes use a signal light texture with custom mipmaps that make it appear larger the further you are from the signal. (MLT even gave this a fancy name, "SigView Technology") Those signals will generally have a signal texture rendered 4 or 8 times larger than what it "should" be, with the mipmaps causing the signal texture to appear at a normal size at close range and quite large at long distances; Open Rails can simulate a similar effect but in a more advanced way, this is why there's a "Signal Light Glow" setting as applying both effects on top of each other produces poor results.

If you want to replace that with a standard signal light texture, as Travis indicated above you'll need to reverse the modifications made in the route's sigcfg.dat by replacing the value in the Radius line for each SignalType with the correct size, 0.104 should work for most of them, just watch for unusually large or small signal lenses or signals that use other custom light textures for certain features like arrows. Always make a back-up!

OR has the on/off option for Signal Light Glow ( Video Tab )....problem is all the old MSTS routes came with a BUNCH of different SigLight Ace files -- different sizes --- each tied to a radius in the sigcfg.dat file. And those default files react differently when rendered in OR if the signal glow option is chosen and no adjustments to sigcfg.dat file has been made.

****sim-al2 explained the siglight ace problem a lot better above!

One of my standard siglight ace files is shown below ( SigLightAce_1) the others are from MacTier and MLT routes:

I also noticed there was no mosaic under the track in your original photo. I don't understand why people would mess around and waste time with any version that lacks it when other versions that have it exist.

Geepster, I changed something in the tracks, and I don't remember what I did or how to return it when it looked really good. Do you have any ideas about what I might do to fix it?
