I think the western & atlantic route still holds up, as well as your tallahassee upgrade. The monon route could work too.
It's honestly hard to go back to some of these routes, when the bar has been raised pretty high with both the Mullan Pass and Black Butte Subs. Haha.

I just added CSX 4607 to the library, pending review.

ID:	2292966 I'm hoping to do a couple more of these SD40s, but in CSX liveries. Maybe 4602 in Blue Stripe, and another 46xx unit in YN2.

Jerry,

I was in Erwin, TN Friday. Had to go to Unicoi to reclaim an empty trailer at Scott Farms. I get up there quite a bit late spring to early fall.

Nice work Yellowdog. I've downloaded a few of your units.

Thanks, folks! This is definitely my favorite era to model, and I'm glad some other people are enjoying the reskins.

Another SD40 model hopefully coming soon. I wanted to do 4602 because it had unique coloring on the numbers, but turns out it had some specific details that I don't have a model for. 4606 works, though. It has a primer-colored horn, door, and brake wheel, making it a little unique. It's looking pretty good, I think. I need to add more details, and then do some weathering before putting it in the sim or uploading. And then can maybe get an 83xx number out of this skin/model, too (more research needed). This one also ended up with a yellow nose at some point (a version without CSX stamped on the nose, and then an even later version with CSX lettering and ditchlights). I may add an alternate yellow nose version (the former), like I did with 4601.

No, I don't have any yn3 planned.

This is done, and should be uploaded soon. It will come with 3 different texture options 1) clean, 2) dirty, and 3) yellow nose

NIce work! There can never be enough early CSX equipment. Glad to see someone else working on some.

Thanks, guys!

I just uploaded 8325 as well. Though both are "Blue Down" paint, there are some differences between it and 4606. From what I can tell, 8325 existed at an earlier point in time than the 46xx series SD40s, because 4606 was previously 8326 while 8325 looks like it went off the roster. So 8325 would have been a "road motor" around the same time as other unrebuilt SD40s, whereas the 46xx series transitioned to yard switchers as other SD40s got rebuilt/removed. I also realized after uploading that the step wells of 8325 are blue instead of yellow. Here's a corrected ace, for those who want it.

Hi yellowdog,
May I respectfully suggest that, before uploading any locos, they are tested in a 'clean' installation (MSTS or ORTS) by following their included readme?
CSX 4601, 4606 and 4607 all have the same problem - no sounds!

The readme states "Sounds are aliased to Ron Furto's SD40 sounds.". Unfortunately, they are not.
The supplied Sound lines for these locos are :
Sound ( "../../Common.Snd/sd40snds/SOUND/SBDsd402eng.sms" )
Sound ( "../../Common.Snd/sd40snds/SOUND/SBDsd402cab.sms" )
but there are no such .sms files in either of Ron Furto's SD40 soundsets.

The SOUND folders for these locos contain files SD40engRS5T.sms and SD40cabRS5T.sms which are aliased to the default SD40-2 loco's sounds.
To use these .sms files, the following Sound lines must replace those shown above :
Sound ( "SD40engRS5T.sms" )
Sound ( "SD40cabRS5T.sms" )
NOTE : Case of entry is important!

Ron Furto's sounds from file sd40snds.zip are meant to be used in the loco's own SOUND folder and won't work properly if put into Common.snd - they also need the default GP38 and SD40-2 to be present in the TRAINSET folder.
There are also two errors in the sd402cab.sms file so I recommend these aren't used, unless they are fixed.
Line 295 - file from GP38 is used, but not aliased.
Line 330 - an aliased entry to ..//..//GP38/soumd/ folder, which, obviously, doesn't exist!

Cheers,
Ged

Hi, Ged. Thanks for the comment. You're probably right. It looks like I modified Ron Furto's original sms files to include various road-specific horns, and also to work via the Common.Snd folder. I'm sure not everyone has the same set up as I do. So I can see how that might be confusing. However, I would guess that no matter what I put in the engine file, somebody could make the same argument you're trying to make (i.e. "you aliased the default GP38 sounds, but I don't have access to the original MSTS discs, so how can I get this to work??"). With that in mind, I would suggest my other option noted in the readme file:

"feel free to use your own Cabview/Sound files"
