Anyone Know where this part is Mapped in the SLI NS GP60?

I have been working on repainting some GP-60's in Full Bucket cream-sickle paint and can not figure out where this part is mapped? is it even possible to get it to be a single color without disturbing the orange and white body stripe?
included is a photo with the offending part circled.

    any help would be appreciated

    thanks in advance

I haven't reskinned this model, but have encountered this on lots of other models. When there are obscure spots like that, what I do is use the line tool to draw bright-colored stripes (like fluorescent green, pink, etc--colors that wouldn't normally appear on the model) several pixels wide on the texture to help me figure out where it's mapped. In this case, it looks like it's on the b texture. So I'd just start drawing stripes on that one til I figured out where it is. Kind of a pain, but will help you narrow it down. If you find out the spot is not fixable, throw some rust on the spot in the texture to cover it in both places on the model. Or do something else creative, like maybe the GP60 has a slightly different FBL scheme than other units because it needs to be specially identified...

Thanks I will try the stipe idea to try to find the mapped area, and the rust patch or something similar is a good idea as well.

        Take something like this

and substitute it for the main texture. At least it'll show you the area to look.

It's probably the same thing I have circled in the photo. What ever color you change this to it also changes the yellow hand rails for the steps to the new color. Click image for larger version

The grid and square idea was a great one, thanks. I will keep that idea in my toolbox for next time.

I managed to fairly quickly narrow down the area it is mapped in. Just in front of the left side cab window. after trying several different ways of making either the vent white or another color, which would leave a strange square, or putting some sort of sticker or patch there I decided to just change the overall design and put an arch on the cab stripe so that the vent would be the same color as the stripe its in and both sides of the cab would be symmetrical.

After getting the first one finished, It did not take long to make copies of the other three GP60's (road number wise) that were old freeware models already in the file library.

This repaint uses the shape for NS GP60 #1705 that is available in the file library in the "danny_beck_gp60_files_set.zip" file. I edited the original shape file to use DDS textures instead of ACE files.

So I have a question, If I release these repaints, can I include the edited shape files from the above mentioned set with them or do I need to re package my textures back to ACE formats that the now free file used in its unmodified state?

Cab view and sound sets will be aliased to ones available in the file library.
