    I've come up with a mapping for the original aCleanTrack1/2 textures, which will perhaps address some concerns about custom track textures being lost.

    Screenshots tomorrow and possibly uploaded by end of the day.

    This would be in addition to the USTracks pieces. Next up after that would be a set with DDS textures.

    Yes, it's three options using the same shape naming, so mini-routes/separate folders may be in order for those who want two or more options....

      Please do not forget to optimise the existing tracks.

      With long switches, the tongues touch both tracks.
      For example, the outer track is too long for many branching points. You can see this in the switch animation.

      I hope you can understand what the translator is saying! 😀

        Jan, I'll take a look. These are script generated, so the overlapping points will probably continue to be for a while.

        First impression... they're not horrible.

        I know many of us want better textures, but this might work as a first step for those who can't figure it out or who don't have the default installation available.

                Water for UKFS_s_1x100m.s would be ideal
                I don't want to be a nuisance and I know you have a lot on your plate but I was wondering whether this was still a possibility.

                    After looking through my installation again, the element water is missing in the ACleanTrack2.ace texture which is placed e.g. in the a1t10mstrtwtr.s in the original Europe1 route. If you do not use such routes, you will not notice the missing element. I have added the water from the ACleanTrack2.ace from the Europe1 route, although I don't like the texture.

                    On some turnouts, the toothed rail at the upper edge of the texture is disturbing as it lies on the upper edge of some mapping.
                    The standard tracks should be produced with this division, otherwise you will have to exchange the textures again.

                        These are mapped to ukfs_rail and ukfs_si (which appears to be a water texture, but maybe not...)

                          Thank you so much, Eric, for the water troughs. I have now installed them in my Chiltern route and attach a screenshot of King George IV replenishing its water from the troughs at a place called Kings Sutton.

                          What appears to be steam underneath and on top of the tender is in fact water spray, underneath where the water scoop is spraying up the water and at the top where the tender is overflowing. These effects look better in the sim than in the screenshot because what appear to be separate "puffs" of water merge into a single spray at speed. This feature is possible using a suitably modified OR-specific wag file for the tender.

                          For anyone who is interested in doing something similar, that is to create functioning water troughs with textures matching the rest of the track in the route (assuming you are not using the replacement track and textures which are the subject of this thread) I had to implement the following steps:

                          1.To make sure that the water troughs would operate as intended in OR I copied a 100m UKFS track section and renamed it to a1t100mstrtwtr.s so that OR would recognize the track section as a water trough.

                          2. I have experimented with my own water texture but wanted to keep ukfs_si.ace intact in case it was used for something else in the route. I therefore created an ace file called ukfs_water and edited the shape file of the water insert ukfs100mstrtwtr.s to change the image reference appropriately.​

                            Glad it worked. I have a piece modeled on US standards (New York Central RR) which can be placed at the ends which was used to protect both the trough as well as the lowered scoops.

                              New versions are in the file library -- an option for ATracks (default Kuju textures) and an option for USTracks.

                              I'm sure there are some bugs left... feel free to report them.

                                In the "default-track-ATrack" the textures for all xx-concrete.s tracks are not linked to "Concrete1.ace".
