managed one side of another 3 containers, did not even realise that Matson did 53 footers having only ever seen 40's and 45's before in the sim.

Hey Bernard I know you have a lot of stuff going on right now but do you think you could fit in some Amazon Prime/CSX double stacks and maybe also some Amazon Prime/UMAX double stacks somewhere down the road when you have time.

Never knew Matson had 53 footers either. Only once I have seen their 45 footer in person. Which apparently, I keep neglecting to put in my container sets for some reason. Hmm.

Pete, quite common to lift these up on flatcars and move them to where they are needed.
Thanks again Neil, and it is always good to know you haven't completely lost the plot. I was looking to see if I'd saved a pic last night but found this bookmarked today. It's not exactly the same "model" but appears to be a permanent part of their MOW gear, so trackside, in transit on a flatcar or part of a MOW train, it's nice to have options.

CSX did some rehabilitation on the Norlina Subdivision between Rollesville and Norlina. Having photoed some of the equipment in action, I was fortunate to catch it loaded onto train F013 and cleared from Rolesville to Raleigh. The train is powered by 2 SD50-2 rated at 3000 HP. #2482 is an ex Conrail and #8516 is an ex SBD. There are a number of interesting cars in the consist. #165114 is an ex CR boxcar that now has a raisable door and walk in door, apparently used as office or shop space. #912262 looks like a flat car with a connex used for storage or office space and the last car in the consist is a flatcar that appears to have a foldable ramp on the rear that I suspect folds out to allow the MOW equipment to be rolled onto the flatcars for transport.

And Shawn, if you need a Matson 45, you know who to call.
          Cheers!
          Pete

I believe I may have seen a few of the 40 foot "office" conversions chained down to a MOW flat as camp cars. I've definitely seen them as section houses.

This mornings work, another 6 with one side done. obviously when i get through the finding and i have a bunch of one sides i have to doo the rest of the container sides, have found a few second sides and applied them during the morning though. i am going through all my sources finding all usable pics i want to use and doing the one side, once i know how many doubles i can make up i will then choose some for this project and then save the rest for the next and so on, but i think after i exhaust the ones i have prepared i will not want to see another 53 footer for a while.

Will your version be as rusty and dilapidated as the car in the video?

No it will be exactly the same as the one in the photograph with just the aircon and lights removed as there is no FA to replicate those, virtually all rolling stock i do, containers, box cars etc are photo skins, i only do by hand the bits that you cannot see in the potos and as i cannot work with layers, everything i do is done on a .bmp file first then changed to and ace and .dds file at the end.

Man these look awesome. So glad to see modern Intermodal. Matson is a Hawaiian company they have both 53 and 40 footers. I especially like it when the cars have air hoses.

The containers that you show above are absolutely fantastic. I especially like is the four degrees of weathering on the CSX containers.

This morning made up both sides for a UMAX container and put the Twin Logistics on top of a J B Hunt as well as doing the opposite side of it, still roofs and ends to do for both of those.

Looking at the thousands of pics of containers i have access to, i have never found a Amazon container on top or underneath a UMAX or CSX container, all of the pics which were taken of entire consists in southern California between 2019 and 2022 generally find them on top or underneath J B Hunt containers in a well.

I've seen videos from the FEC with UMAX intermixed with CSX and FEC containers. If that helps.
