Looks like I forgot to merge a layer down and it screwed up most of those. Oops.

I downloaded both your SP packs and I saw that the numbers on the back of the SD45Rs and SD45T-2R's are missing but other than that, I think you did an very outstanding job! I am looking forward to downloading more of your locomotives!

There is no filter. I have gotten glimpses of the top of these when the loco is operating (no photos, though) and the top is open, nothing over the exhaust stack. The box obviously serves as a closable "lid" when the loco is in storage. I have seen one good photo of one on the internet, but it is a copyrighted image from a professional photographer.

    I think it's a cover/exhaust filter.

I haven't been able to get a good photo from above looking down on the "box," but they sure are ugly from ground level. Though ugly, a freight animation of that "stack cover" might be an addition to some of those Dash 9's--only to represent what they too often look like in the "real world" today. I have thought about it. I'm not sure if there's a freight animation of them out there though, otherwise I would've used it for sure.

Been something I've been wanting to make, but with the lack of good up close photos, I haven't bothered. I've also seen some with a full cover over the exhaust, with the sides open for the exhaust to come out, almost like a chimney cover.

Are they fixed in place or removable?

9753 uses the UP SD70M shape because TS doesn't have an SD70MAC. The only other decent SD70MAC is Nash's.

My best guess is a comparison shot. 9753 looks really good.
