Heres' a shot on the recent MOW sheds, used as FAs on my own 50ft flatcars.

The tie gangs generally use the greater diversity of machines, pretty much running in assembly-line style--tie pullers, tie inserters, plate inserters, spikers, etc. The most common machines to see regularly are ballast regulators and tampers--they usually work together. Then there are all the hi-rail trucks. There have been a few of those made, but not highly detailed models--and none of the heavier hi-rail trucks that could be made operable. A "standard issue" hi-rail pickup truck is one like this--most of the major railroads use ones like these or similar variants for track inspection. I would love for a replica model of this to be made. Click image for larger version

I agree Wade and I guess it could also be one of those "where do you stop?" issues if someone did tackle it. I saw a video a while back of a HEAP of MOW equipment arriving onto a siding and I don't think I'd ever appreciated how many different pieces of equipment actually exist, although from a sim point of view, half a dozen would make me happy.

Detailed MOW models have been needed in MSTS/OR since forever. There a few out there that are decent, but most are from the early to mid-MSTS era when small detailed models just weren't easy to build or took too much computer resources. I also understand why few modelers have tackled them because they are complex, detailed machines to model.

Thanks for the message and I do have those, but in terms of adding them as a FA and then uploading them, I'm not sure where that sits in terms of permissions etc. I guess if people hadn't seen them before they can now download them and swap and change loads as it suits them. Thanks again!

I agree Kyle. If anyone has any models like that kicking around I'm sure a lot of us would be very happy to see them, on a flat car or on the rails.

MOW flat cars can have a pretty good variety when it comes to flatcar loads. They'll haul just about anything. I'd recommend a small piece of track equipment, even a MOW truck.

I had some more scruffy old containers and decided to go around again with another MOW Shed load. In hindsight I was also not that happy with my previous 20 footer.... a bit too much sun glare, so I've toned it down and will include an edited dds file in the Shed 2 upload. I still have another container I could do but just for variety I'm wondering if anyone has a MOW type object or piece of equipment I could add to the next flat car with the container. Eric already suggested a generator, air compressor or tank. I'd take any of those or pretty much anything else MOW like. if you have something and would like to share it, please let me know. I'll give it a day or two then upload tonight's containers and hopefully another container and a yet to be announced object.

And the 20 footer looks great on our ridge in TN... that's about the place we're looking to put a real one, thanks to Jerry's CNOTP3 route.
