    Need a few beta testers

I'm in need of a few folks to test my Japanese route, the Omura Line. PM me if you're interested.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

Nagasaki you say - I was there while back in the NAV (Sasebo) in the 80's/90's - I think I was actually on that line. We went to the Peace Park near the black obelisk (ground zero). There were hundreds of Japanese schoolgirls in uniform on tours - out of the group of us - they must have thought me and my buddy were rockstars or something - they came running up saying "Picture, Picture, Picture" - I have a couple of great shots of me and my buddy standing in a literal sea of Japanese schoolgirls all smiling. I really haven't a clue why - - - my 10 minutes of fame. It was pretty sobering going into the adjacent museum with graphic pictures seeing the same girls in tears. Hah - been a while. Best of luck with your route.

    Regards,
    Scott

      Hi Scott,

Yes, it's probably the same route you took, Sasebo to Nagasaki.

I rode the line in 2014 while working in Sasebo (Navy contractor) and visited Peace Park and its museum as well. Very humbling experience.

Decided it might make an interesting route for MSTS.

        Jeff,

I'd be happy to run it through its paces. Sounds like a cool project

          Hi Jeff,

          Testing with ORMG 136

Missing AIHservice2.con with 1st and second activity.
3rd activity is blocked by a switch just out of the station

After waiting for some time, the path changed and the activity continued.
            Running it now.

I've just started 1st activity and fully concur. One puzzling thing though is that I can't get Carlo's DemoAutoSounds to work on this route. I have them on all my other routes but there's just no sound over points, on curves etc on this one.
                Regards,

SORTED.... It needed a separate OpenRails folder in the route with the .trk file copied into it.

I just started the second activity, "Sea Side Rapid Service to Sasebo". I get the voice saying OK to proceed, I depart the station at 25, hit the speed post for 35, then a red signal appears and I have to stop on a dime to avoid running through the signal. Once there nothing else happens, I try the TAB key but the voice said "Permission Denied".

                    Anyone else see this?

In the Seaside Rapid Service to Sasebo activity, there is an AI train incoming that has to clear, after which you will get a clear path leaving Nagasaki.

The incoming AI train will hold you up for about 10 seconds after departure, but it should have cleared well before you reach the 35 kph speed post. There is another AI train coming, but you should not see it until you get to the next station (Urakami).

The second AI train is the holdup for the third activity, "Sea Side Rapid Service to Sasebo". I noticed that there is a round signal on the platform with three yellow lights. In the first activity they start horizontally but quickly change to three verticals yellow lights and the path is clear to go. When I start the third activity the three horizontal yellow lights do not change until the second AI train enters the station, then the change to three vertical lights, and all the green signals show up in the track monitor. I assume you could pass the three yellow lights at the platform and proceed and be prepared to stop at the red signal near the 35 km/h speed limit and wait for the AI traffic there... will try that next.

The first time I tried I passes the three yellow signals on the Platform and proceeded to the red signal and stopped 20m short of them. This placed my train on the double crossover and I was hoping the AI train would be nice enough to use a crossover somewhere before it got to me but no luck...

Second try I stopped short of the double crossover and waited, and the second AI train came along, used the double crossover and as soon as it was clear of my path the signal changed and the signals showed up in the track monitor.

There is nothing to tell you to stop short of the doble crossover. I think the solution would be to change the departure time of the player train by six minutes to 1501 and then you would also have to adjust the time of all the station stops by six minutes as well. Not sure but that might screw up meets with AI traffic. Either why, sitting on the platform or sitting short of the double crossover for six minutes is going to make a tight schedule tighter... or you have to adjust the schedule.

                            Paul :-)

The signal above the departing platform is a repeater, it simply displays the aspect of the next signal down the line. Horizontal lights indicate a red, or stop, vertical lights indicate a clear. They should go to clear before you even reach the repeater, as the incoming AI train should have cleared the crossover.
