    TDB limits...?

Are track database node limits still a thing with ORTS/TSRE?

I know waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in the dark ages of MSTS, I think the node limit was 10,000 or so?

As you can see in the attached screenshot, I am very easily closing in on that 10,000 mark, as I've been building I've gotten over it before but once the route saves the numbers drop back under 10,000.

    Regards,

It shouldn't be a problem. Most of the 16 and 32 bit limits have been lifted

Tracknodes are indeed renumbered in TSRE to fill gaps (similar to a TDB reorganization in TSUtils)

The Global TSection file still works within the constraints and number ranges established in MSTS: Shape defined sectionIdx numbers have to fit between 251 and 39999, and Dynamic defined SectionIdx and ShapeIndex numbers take up 40000 to 65335.

Track section indexes for dynamic track are no longer limited in TSRE 8.x and can exceed 65335.

I've been experimenting with sectionIdx numbers in the 100000+ range, which would allow for almost unlimited track system expansion. So far, it's not been catastrophic. That's a personal initiative.
