What link which will allow me to download VMTracks are you referring to? I have downloaded the two route files.

Use the last link in post #1 of this thread. It should take you to the VM track download.

            Hi Fred,
Although I already have Via Metrica, I tried the link you referred David to, but it doesn't work!

Pressing 'Descargar' on the first screen brings up the second; pressing 'Acepto' shows the 3rd screen, then... nothing! Pressing 'Haz click aquí si no eres redirigido automáticamente.' (Click here if you are not automatically redirected.) also does nothing.

            Cheers,
            Ged

EDIT : Apologies! It appears to be a problem with (my?) Google Chrome browser. I have successfully downloaded the file using Microsoft Edge.

                Hi David,
Not using the link posted, I went directly to trensim.com and have just downloaded from here : http://www.trensim.com/lib/msts/inde...t=view&id=1059

My link appears to be ALMOST the same as that posted! The actual website is NOT https.

Entering the complete address, including http://, in Chrome allows the file to be downloaded - it may be the same with FireFox.

                Cheers,
                Ged

Thank you both. This appears to have resolved my download problem.

This is a great route. Lots of detail and I can see that great care has been put into making this route.

However I am having a serious problem with this route.

Frequently the route will suddenly crash. Looking at the log file it says "I/o error" and "cannot write to OpenRailsLog.txt, file being used by another program." Also sometimes, but not always the program will crash when I use the F2 key for a save. I get the same error message.

                      I would appreciate any help.

                      Fred

Chrome, on my machine says that the various files are on insecure servers and may have been tampered with. It blocks them completely. So I wonder if someone that has successfully downloaded these files, or has the route installed, could upload them to our trainsim system so that we could download them with the ease that we do any other route. Seems like a great one but I am not in any hurry as I have several projects underway, but having it, or similar items, on our server would help.

I was finally able to download the route files, yuk, 4 hours to download the terrtex data. However, I have not been able to download the metric track files. Using the last link provided, 10+Mbt. downloads but the file then does not complete and the resulting, I guess uncomplete file is named "unconfirmed #####.crdownload" where ##### is a number that changes if another download is attemped, as I tried twice. Is there any legal way this file could also be hosted on trainsim.com?

Well I saw that comment aboutt Chrome having a problem. I don't use Edge because it is buggy enough, but I did successfully download the file with Edge. I don't run anything with MSTS now, could not get it to run on my Win-10 machine, so I will set it up in one of my isolaled ORTS directories.

I have carefully installed everything where it is supposed to go, but when I try to run the activity that is supposed to work, I get a blank consist etc. entry and it is looking for an EMD----. I don't see any such equipment in the Trains or Consists foldler supplied. I was able to bring the route up in TSRE and it is a fantastic piece of work, just the Km or 2 that I looked at. Any idea where to find the missing item - I assume it is a diesel engine.

I did find that no manner of effort with Chrome yielded a successful download of the metrics material, but Edge did it on the first try.

                              Hi Jerry,

You can try this attached below. Was able to have both activities run. Had to create the Mixto Salteno consist file with existing rolling stock and had to change some rolling stock descriptions inside the activities. I remember that rolling stock Espina 6 did not exist in the downloaded rolling stock. So, inside the activity files, I have simply changed Espina 6 to Espina 5 and can't remember what other changes were done. Simply extract inside your Train Simulator folder.

Hope It works out for you. Remarkable route it is!
