BTW- All the cabooses released so far have been from the very last 100 built at Centralia in 1971-72. There are 3 more versions of this caboose. The 1966 cars have friction-bearing trucks and more rivets, but the 1968 Darby cabooses and 1969-70 Centralia cabooses share the same shape with some texture modifications. The 50 Darby cabooses were all-welded construction with smooth sides and no rivets, while 100 cabooses built in 1969-70 had a Stanray roof and had riveted sides identical to the caboose I made.

A very helpful site for understanding the numbering groups: http://www.icrr.net/iccaboose.htm

I may do a Darby version at a later date.

A huge "THANK YOU!!!" for the early Christmas presents! I spent many hours riding 199351 while the local did its switching in Sparta, IL in my younger days...

Thanks Kevin! I may try to do a Roodhouse caboose in the distant future as well. I have my current sights set on a GP10. You can't model the ICG without Paducah rebuilds.

Yes, agree that the model is well made.
The only thing are the wheels, they bounce around like Tiger Trains wheels.
There must be better wheels to use. The Maine boxcar coupled have wheels that run true.

My offer stands to deliver some of your favorite beverage to Decatur for a Roodhouse cab (I'd like to spend some more time at WABIC anyway).

Any thoughts on some Centralia built 4 bay coal hoppers?

Sorry about the wheels, it's something I overlooked. I bet the bearing caps could be centered manually by editing the texture. What is more difficult to overcome, however, are the shadows present on the original photo. I think the shadow certainly contributes to the wobbly look of the bearing cap and correcting it would likely require a new photo to be used. The truck texture came from a photo I took of a modern NW caboose at Monticello, IL.

Once you're going over 20mph it all blurs together. If I can find a happy medium with a texture modification, I'll upload the results.

Kevin, I'll be sure to look you up when I get around to it. The request line is ringing off the hook! I have a few months of work left on my current projects before I start anything new. Once those are wrapping up I'll determine if I have any hair left and go from there.

Completely content to see anything IC/ICG/GM&O these days.

Let me know if you need any photos to work from, I'll be happy to dig through my slides...
