Central Pacific has been working on improving its image, and in a move approved by the board, 10 SD70MN-T4 locomotives #4000-4009 have been repainted in subsidiary California Northwestern's Sacramento Northern Division - Yolo Shortline Railroad "Yellow and Black AKA Bumblebee Scheme" Recently released from Sacramento Shops, rebuilt to comply with EPA regulations, the 10 locomotives were hustled to Sacramento/River City Station to be unveiled to the public.

The plan is to repaint the entire fleet with some exceptions. More to follow!

I did notice the NP station at Ellensburg had a VIA station sign when I ran the activity… lol

If these are some of the engines coming into Shasta, or just made in leisure by another they are awesome! I'm a fan of the 45s/45Ts, and seeing them in speed lettering and gothic make me excited to see the rest. I'm glad we can finally have a newer model of the 45Ts since the MLT one is getting outdated.

                  Hi Denis,

It appears to be Train Simulations Mount Shasta - work in progress.

                  Hi Folks,

Yeah - looking closely at the images - really nice blending between the scenery and Distant Mountain imagery - looks like you've stepped up your game a bit since Mullen. It's the best I've ever seen. Also - very happy to see 2nd gen diesels back in play. The skydome isn't too shabby - either .

                  Regards,
                  Scott

Loving the look of Shasta, and I'll say the more bloody nose the merrier (do not take that out of context).

Now, would it be possible to ever convince you guys at TS to make some new couplers and use the new (ish) animated coupler feature? A very small fragment of me dies every time something new comes out which still uses the Danny Beck couplers from nearly 20 years (!!!) ago.
That coupler used to go hand in hand with Fred Flintstone wheels and 2D grabirons, yet here it is in 2023 going alongside 3D models that would make a grown PC cry. The thing is a real trooper for sticking around this long, maybe it's time to let it retire and have a nice getaway.

PS: Mad respect to car 0-4 derailing on that corner, that's a very bold move to make right when someone is trying to get a nice picture.

                      Hey all,

Yes, these screens are from the upcoming Southern Pacific Shasta route from TrainSimulations. The locomotives (SD40R, SD45T-2, SD45R) are also a small sampling of the motive power that is con-currently being developed for the route. It's a beautiful route and a BIG leap forward for sure.

Why are the textures so dark? The SD45T-2 in those screenies looked like this in real life:
                            sp9259k.jpg (1000×426) (rr-fallenflags.org)

But in the screenies it looks nearly black.

The units that are represented for the route have a wide variety of weathering from clean to almost totally black. Keep in mind that these units in real life would have also be likely used on the Cascade Subdivision to the north and could easily go from relatively clean to completely covered in exhaust soot (from the numerous tunnels and snow sheds) in a matter of days before being washed again.

My word those screenshots of the new route look amazing. I don't know how Sean does it, but I surely could never get anything like mine to look that fancy! I'm ashamed of sharing screenshots of my routes compared to that! haha

Really looking forward to this route.
