They always looked a little thin to me but I helped restore an S-3 and the handrails were only 1 inch in diameter so that's what I made my handrails... but yes, wish they were thicker.

I wrote this reply yesterday morning and the software saved most of it but didn't post my reply. I had to select "restore" to get what it did save yesterday.

Do you mean the coil cars? Those were released two weeks ago. Look for AMcpk26.zip in the file library.

"Saddlebacks" refer to the TTX flatcars with the six or seven trucks with no bodies. They are included with the TTX Bi and Tri Levels I posted a week or so ago, along with the Ford Cube Vans.

I'm finally starting to write and run activities for the Conrail Kellog Branch/Fonda Johnstown and Gloversville route.
First activity is the Conrail Amsterdam yard. They start at 0730, run light to Fonda to do some yard work and any
local work they have. After the FJ&G comes in and exchanges their cars and heads back out, the Conrail switcher breaks
their train down into east and west cars to be picked up overnight. The crew heads back to Amsterdam to service their
own customers along the Mohawk Sub before heading up the Kellog Branch and servicing those customers.
The first activity took eight and a half hours to complete.

The Amsterdam yard crew departs Amsterdam and meets NY-10.

After switching the Fonda yard the crew waits in the Agway siding for the FJ&G freight to come and go.

After returning to Amsterdam the crew serviced the industries along the mainline.

Heading up the Kellog Branch that hits grades of up to 3.7%.

8429 services some of the smaller industries on the branch before heading into the "Concrete Canyon".

With all their switching complete it's time to head back to the yard.

8429 heads down grade to the yard, the drop is over 174 feet in less than a mile and a half.

The third part of the November 21 1977 activities, the Fonda Johnstown and Gloversville train.

Activitiy starts in the Gloversville enginehouse where the crew makes they way to the yard and picks up their train before heading to Johnstown and lifting a few cars, then on to the interchange in Fonda with Conrail.

After amking dropping their train in the yard and lifting the cars Conrail has assembled for them, FJ&G 20 makes their way back to Johnstown.

After finishing switching the customers in Johnstown the crew will head back and pick up their train in the Lower Johnstorn yard before heading north to Gloversville.

Dropping a reefer on the Kindsboro team track before heading to service Coleco.

Two cars lifted and two cars spotted at Coleco. The two lifted cars will be left on the run-around track and picked up when the train returns from Broadalbin.

All the switching is done in Broadalbin and the crew is pumping up the air before returning to Coleco and on to Gloversville.

The two cars at Coleco have been lifter and the train is assembled.

After lifting two cars from the yard, tomorrow's train is assembled and left on the main. Time to pickup the caboose and head back to the enginehouse.

I thought it was about time to draw a new FJ&G 3 that was an accurate version of the caboose they
had built by the Delaware and Hudson. While I was at it I build a few D&H cabeese.

Where I grew up, a local historian named Harold Seuss had a D&H caboose that he kept on a siding near our house. When we'd drive by, we'd say "There's Seuss' Caboose!" And now we have one just like it in the sim. Ah - the things one remembers from kindergarten....
