    Steam Locomotives

I figured I would start a new thread on steam locomotive screen shots.

Here is the Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 #261 in the early morning down at it's shop facility at Minneapolis Jct. getting ready to depart for its round trip excursion down the CP River Subdivision to La Cressent, MN. Something the locomotive used to do on a yearly bases from 2003-2008 for its Fall Color Excursions.

This trip really did happen back in 2007 and I was lucky enough to be onboard.

Excellent I would say and I am impressed by the quality of the route itself. Earlier versions of the Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 did not work well else I would have used them on my Milwaukee Road routes, so I substitued the SP&S engine. One of these days, I'll do some more Milwaukee Road, east of Harlowton, but the track is done and those subdivisions are in the "incomplete" area of the library if someone else wants to take a whack at them.
