Re-worked Consists not transferring to New Computer

I dont know if this problem can be corrected. Some time ago,I purchased my new Alienware computer. I finally got it up and running and transferred my considerable MSTS compatible content to it. Testing it,the Activities work great in Open Rails,BUT during the past several months as I acquired new rolling stock and Engines,I re-worked and re-named several consists using TSRE. I transferred the TSRE program that I was using on my old computer to the new one as well as my Trainset,Trains, and Consists and was hoping that the re-worked Consists would be there. Well.they aint'!!! I was worried about this to be honest, which is why I was slow to get the new Computer up and running. Fortunately,my old one works reasonably well,so I can keep going with that until I can find solution or re-work those consists again. If anybody can give me advice,or a way to transfer the re-worked consists to the new computer,I,of course would be grateful,as it would save me a lot of work! If it is impossible, well thats' life!!! Thank You,Brian

If the consists have have been saved correctly they will be found in the TRAINS\consist folder. They can be copied to the new computer. Look in the consist folder and determine if the reworked consists are there....if they are not...then...
    ...either:
    1. The TSRE consist save routine was not correct
    2. The consist was saved but to another location ( if you know the name of a reworked consist --- use that name to search the old computer. )
    3. Try saving a reworked consist again, and then check the TSRE log found in the TSRE folder....the last entry ( or near the end of the log entries ) should provide some information.

What exactly do you mean by "reworked". You can use most any editor ( ConText for example ) to rework consists ... you do not need the TSRE consist editor.

Post an Openrails log file and lets see what we can find.

The Consists are in the new computer, but so far as I can see{very cursory} WITHOUT the changes that I have made. I need to run them through TSRE in the new computer to see exactly what the situation is with them. I did change a number of the names,as I took consists that I would never use and changed them and re-named them to what I did want.THAT was probably a mistake! I meant by reworked the changes in the consists,as well as the re-naming. I probably should have held off on this post until I checked everything out.Anyway Gerry,as always Thank You and we shall see where I end up! Brian

Thanks Derek, Let me check the TSRE Consist Builder file in the new computer and see what the situation is. I may have posted this too soon. I do know that one{the only one that I checked}did transfer over, but without the changes that I made. When I have a few minutes,I will check it out in more detail. As always, your assistance is appreciated. Brian

Thank You Charles for taking the time to respond. The full path on the old PC: OS{C:}TrainSimulator1>TRAINS>CONSISTS.The full path on the new PC: D:TrainSimulator1>TRAINS>CONSISTS.TrainSimulator1 is my folder to launch Open Rails. I copied this ENTIRE folder to my External Hard Drive{D} and then re-copied to the new computer. I believe that I also re-copied my TRAINS and CONSISTS file s over separately at a later time, but I am not completely sure about this. If I did not give you enough information or what I gave you is wrong, dont' hesitate to let me know. Thanks Again.Brian
