    Creating Loose Consists with TSRE5.

I Have TSRE5 v0.7.012 Installed and it Works Great. Can You Create Loose Consists for Activities with that Version? I'm Sure there is a Way but I'm not Sure How and I Don't Want to Mess Anything Up.
    Thankyou,
    DaveK

Yes, BUT remember you run the TSRE-CE from a batch file which causes TSRE to open in the CE mode. To place Loose Consists you have to open TSRE in the RE mode direct from TSRE5.exe file and choose the AE tool which allows you to select previously created consists.

      Charles,
I Think I Understand What Your Saying but I'm Not Sure. My Version of TSRE5 Looks Different than the Ones Used for Explaining How TSRE Works. What I want to do is Create Additional Loose Consists for Existing Activities. What I Usually do is Just Add Extra Cars to Existing Loose Consists but the Longer Consists don't always Fit on the Tracks.
I'll try Using the RE Mode and See if it Works.
      Thankyou,
      DaveK

Adding additional items to Loose Consists can ONLY be done by editing with an AE as the contents of LCs is read from the ACT file NOT from the CON files in the Consist folder. You may insert a CON file from the Consist folder as an LC, but its contents remain what it contained at the moment of insertion into the Activity until/unless the ACT is edited.

Pardon me, but replacing - adding -- removing cars to loose consists can be done with the TSRE-Consist Editor....You take the chance of making the loose consist too long to fit in a siding by adding cars...then you will have to use the TSRE - AE ( activity editor ) to move/adjust the consist to fit.

My TSRE may look different because I've chosen different window/background and customized it to my preferences...we are all using the same TSRE ( maybe different versions ).

Using the TSRE-CE -- use the pull down menu arrows to select SHOW: Activity Consists

ROUTE: pull down menu to select route, making sure you've picked the correct highlighted route with your mouse arrow

Activity: pull down menu to select correct highlighted activity and all the activities loose consists will be listed with numbers as they appear in the acitivity file.
Choose any loose consist and it will appear in the consist view window, you can then modify any loose consist...add, remove, replace, etc. cars.

            Charles,
I Did Create a Consist with the Consist Editor and I was Able to place it in the Yard Using the Route Editor. But If I Wanted to Place a LC On a Customers Siding I will not be Able to do it Unless I Have an AE to Modify the Activity to Actually Add the LC. Is that Right?

              Charles,
Isn't there an AE in the TSRE5 Route Editor Side?

When you ask about "creating" loose consists, do you literally mean create the string of cars, or, or do you mean - "create" or place them to appear on a specific track in a routes activity?

Yes, TSRE has an AE, which is where you would be accessing the functions to place one on the track(s) of choice. But all of the above is applicable if you are looking to create one (or pick an existing one, or modify etc.) before placing it.

using TSRE's Consist Editor you can edit "loose Consists" within an activity....if your trying to create "New" loose Consist, you can do manually using Notepad or Notepad++ or you can do it by just creating a consist with TSRE's Consist Editor, then using the activity editor tool within TSRE, you can select the "newly" created consist and place where you want it in the activity.

                    Gerry,
I've Been Modifying Loose Consists, AI Consists and Player Consists All Along Using the Procedure You are Showing. I do it to Make them Look More Prototypical Since very few look Realistic with 5 Gons,5 Reefers, 5 Boxcars ect. It Looks Unrealistic and not Prototypical. I'm trying to Create New Loose Consists for Activities in Addition to the LC's that Come in the Activity.
So Either I Do What You Do and Add Cars to LC's or Create New Consists and use TSRE RE to Place Them in Yards Since I Cant Actually Place them on the Customers Siding.
I Have Version v0.7.012 and it Looks Just Like Your Version Looks. Some of the Versions are A Lot Different than Mine. I Know there is a How to Instruction But I can't locate it.

                      Neil,
Yes to Both Questions! I've used the CE to Create Consists and then Used the AE to Place them in Yards. Is there a Way I can Actually Place them on the Customer's Siding If they Aren't in the
                      Activity?

The differences between the last three or four TSRE minor versions are mostly behind the scenes stuff for route editing functions, so they should look the same and behave similarly for Activity Creation.

Yes sir. When you have the AE open, select your activity at the top. I usually have my "player"/"traffic"/"paths" sections set in accordance with the activity. I like to use the "Navi Window" to enter specific coordinates for the beginning of the activity, or, you can select "jump to", and navigate back and forth along the activity path.
From there, get to a siding/spur/yard track, etc. and select the "Consist" drop down arrow to select your consist of choice, and select "Place Consist', which will highlight the box. Then, simply click on track where you want to place it.
You can left click the consist when in "select tool" mode, and adjust/delete, etc.

                            Neil,
With Your Help I Think I Have AE Working Right. It Took a Little Trial and Error with using the Nav Window but I Got it Working and was Able to Actually Place a Consist on the Track I wanted it On. Thankyou. My Next Question is how do I get Rid of the Yellow Lines on the Tracks?
