    Disappearing Consist Builder

When I attempt to access my MSTS content in the Consist Builder, I sometimes get a "not responding" message, then the whole thing disappears....even if I don't get that message the whole thing disappears. I also have the CB set for Trainsimulations and the PRR Eastern Region, those come right up upon prompt.
I have checked the log, and the proper message does appear on the last line.
I thought if I add an Open Rails option, my problem might be fixed, but that option does not recognize any equipment at all, so is a no go.
I've also tried deleting and reinstalling, a method that once worked (I've had this problem several times), but no longer does.
I've found this device to be really useful, and do hope someone here might help me get it up and running again. I have thought about moving all my MSTS rolling stock over to one of the sections that still works....but worry that such a move might disable the section I had moved MSTS content to.....so this remains at the thinking stage, pending advice.

Which consist editor are you referring to? This forum is specifically for the TSRE Consist Editor. As far as I know the TSRE-CE does not have an "Open Rails option" as it was created specifically for ORTS. However, ConBuilder does have an Open Rals option so does your question refer to ConBuilder?

It is TSRE Consist Builder I'm, referencing. It is the "1MSTS" setting that disappears. The "Trainsimulations" and "PRR Eastern Region" settings do fire up normally.
I've had this problem with 1MSTS disappearing before, but, somehow, always managed to get it back until now. I believe the disappearing problem is secondary to some sort of error, but have not been able to locate it. The last entry in the log seems to be what you indicate means the consist editor closed normally.

Can you zip up and attach the logfile?

If it's not listing all of the items in your TRAINS\TRAINSET directory, try downloading the test 8.003 here and including the following in the settings file: debugOutput = true

It's possible you've got a folder or filename that's causing the app to barf.

Also... make sure you are not using this on a secondary monitor -- use your main screen. TSRE below 8.003 will crash if the main window opens on anything other than the main monitor.
