    Setting Background Colors in TSRE Consist Editor.

    It's Been A While but Is there a Way to Permanently Set the Background Colors in the Consist and 3D View Screens.
    Thankyou,
    DaveK

    Run CE Go to 3DView ( between View & Settings ) pull down menu ConView: Set Color. Set color to preference. Then go to folder that contains the TSRE exe ( and the CE bat file ) and look for your settings.txt.

    Should have a line like this colorConView = #a2a2a2 ( values will be different, my window is set for light medium grey ).

    Alternatively you can probably just add that line to your settings.txt manually and adjust the values for the color you prefer.

    IF there's an accepted method maybe someone more fluent with the TSRE_CE will post.

      There are multiple ways to choose your Shape view or Consist view background color. Start as Gerry said. From that dialog you can choose to use any of the 48 basic colors by clicking on the small sample in the rows and columns on the left or the grey scale on the right. Or you can select the "Pick Screen Color" button. Your cursor turns into a large black cross and when you place it on the color you want anywhere on your screen even outside the dialog and left click that color will be selected. Adding to the Custom Colors can be accomplished by selecting a color and when it appears in the rectangular color box in the middle of the lower half of the dialog then when you click the "Add to Custon Colors" button it will be added for selection later.

            There are two settings that need to be set: colorConView and colorShapeView

            colorConView will set up the lower area where the consist is built/displayed

            colorShapeView will set up the shape viewing area (typically in the upper right)

            It's not very intuitive, but I'm leaving it as is for the time being. Can't imagine why you'd want two different colors....

                Nothing's changed for color selection in settings.txt -- there's just a lot more information in there than there was before.

                Uncomment the lines that say colorConView and colorShapeView.

                examples:
                Code:
                colorConView = #a2a2a2
                colorShapeView = #a2a2a2
                Remove the double slashes or # sign at the beginning of the line if they're present. The # sign needs to be present for the color code.

                        Not sure if anyone is interested, but I use these two color codes. A silver pink, and a light gray, which are both easy on the eyes, and allows the details of the cars or other text to show pretty good.

                        colorConView = "#c4aead"
                        colorShapeView = "#808080"
