TSRE Consist Editor Not Displaying Locomotives, Cars, Consists Properly?

Just installed TSRE version 0.7.012 within its own folder entitled TSRE.

Installed the required dependency OpenAL32.dll (win64 version, as I'm running under Windows 10 64 bit) within the TSRE folder.

Clicked the file TSRE5_v0.7.012.exe and selected the folder where MSTS has the Global and Routes sub-directories installed.

TSRE seems to have downloaded additional data within the TSRE folder.

Here is the contents of TSRE folder -

And when selecting Locomotives or cars to be added, get a weird display of either white and black blocks, or red and black blocks.

What is wrong here? Why aren't the locomotives and cars not being displayed properly?

If you've installed OpenAL incorrectly, you will get graphics looking like that. There's an explicit 64 bit version for the 64 bit versions of TSRE, and a 32 bit version for 32 bit versions of TSRE.

I'd suggest using one of the 8.0 versions assuming you can run 64 bit. The correct version of OpenAL32 is part of the download.

Thanks for the reply. But I'm still lost as to what to do next.

The file OpenAL32.dll (64 bit version; as I'm running Windows 10 64bit) was downloaded from https://koniec.org/tsre5/data/openal/Win64/ and copied to the TSRE folder as seen in my first screenshot. I thought that would make the Consist Editor work, but it doesn't.

Next I tried downloading and running the OpenAL32 installation file (OpenAL 1.1 Windows Installer zipped file) from https://openal.org/downloads/ , the installer installed OpenAL32.dll to both System32 and SysWOW64 system folders, but this didn't help as TSRE Consist Editor still didn't work properly.

I have found several different versions of OpenAL32.dll on the internet, but how to choose the appropriate OpenAL32.dll to download and install (in TSRE folder)?

        Hi Peter,
With respect, stop worrying about which version of OpenAL32.dll to use and take Eric's advice to download one of the 8.0 versions which includes the correct version of the file!

        Cheers,
        Ged

I must be missing something here!? What is 8.0 version?? Is/are there 8.* version(s) of TSRE that I'm not aware of and can't seem to find at the moment anyway?

There are also newer/testing versions in the TSRE forum

Thank you very much for clarifying this!

I was looking in the original TSRE website and couldn't find any reference to 8.0 versions! It didn't occur to me to search here within the File Library for an updated version!

Downloaded and installed the "8.0 version", and now the Consist Editor is displaying all locomotives, cars, and consists clearly!

The original TSRE site hasn't been updated or supported for years.
