Downloaded and extracted latest zip, placed in D:\1MSTS, downloaded latest exe and replaced older exe in TSRES folder, edited settings.txt per instructions, tried to run and got only black background with strange red shapes. Researched older posts, confirmed my NVIDIA 970 supports OpenGL 4.4. Any ideas where I might have gone wrong?

Maybe you downloaded wrong ZIP. Latest is 0.69. Latest EXE is 0.6912

Thank you! Exactly what happened. I didn't recognize your file organization in All Downloads and just looked for the one closest to the bottom, wrongly thinking they were ordered by date and not file name/number. Seems to be working now.

I'm not sure, if it is connected to the TSRE5 at all, and I discovered it after watching the walking people and reading about the problems with inclines, stairs etc. Fact is my cars don't adapt to inclines or declines of the street, they always stay horizontal and are dipping into the road uphill or downhill. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

It is fixed in TSRE >= 0.6913.

                      Good stuff Goku! MANY thanks!

Quick question: Is there a limit on the number of track sections that I place before I save?

I ask because as you may know I'm rebuilding the Philadelphia Terminal zone on the PRR-East route (an entire tile) and I found I was placing close to 20 to 30 track sections, slip switches and all sorts of track sections and it was going SO smoothly before I realized I had placed so many.
I saved without any problems but the thought came that maybe I should ask you before I save so much at one gulp.

I normally place 2-5 sections and save but this particular time I was running crazy before I realized. Your TSRE5 editor on the PRR so far? Absolutely NO problems! AND fixed a bunch of database errors too!

                      best regards,

No limit. But you will loose more work if editor crash at some point. Still no auto save ...

With the rather forgiving nature of TSRE5, has anyone tried experimenting with merging routes? When you create a new route within TSRE5, you are not required to pre-generate a selected number of tiles like you have to in RGE. You pretty much have the entire world right from the start, where you can add tiles as you please during your building process.
So I was thinking. If you create a new route, and then paste all the data from two existing routes into it. Tiles, shapes, textures etc. Wouldn't those tiles and the content of them be generated into TSRE5? I have not had the time do this myself, though I was thinking about experimenting with it unless someone had already tried.
But in theory, wouldn't it be possible to do so? Of course signals would have to be replaced.

It is great, to use maps on the big tiles, they look good in the distance and make a beautiful background (depending on the qualitiy of the maps). Near the track the resolution of the maps is not sufficient for a good impression, so it would be great, if we could paint on those tiles, preferably retouching and adding to the photo-maps. If that's not possible, it would be helpful to be able to delete the photo map parts on the small tiles near the track. Thank you!

Another suggestion: it would be very useful, if we could scale and rotate the texture after loading it into the terrain tool.

                              Hi Goku,

Do you know when the next version for 32-bit will be available ?

                              Thx
