    Hi Gokku,

    Is there a possibility to move the signal marker along the tdb line, as in MSTS/RE? (now I see that I can move the signal .s object only).

    In the MSTS/RE also the signal markers "travels" along the tdb line (specially on track sections with elevation), when working with terrain. Is this unwanted behavior of signal markers caused by the structure (terrain/tdb) itself, or is it only the MSTS/RE bug without any consequence to TSRE5?

    Thank you,
    Radek

      Just to inform: TSRE5 gives a (hopefully) false positive with the latest updates to Panda antivirus.

        Flying tree: I don't know when and how it got there, but for some time now I'm encountering a flying tree in my new route. In the editor I can go in direction of the tree, but when I get nearer, the tree vanishes; when I move away from the tree it returns in some distance. I cannot select and delete the tree. How do I get rid of it?

          I recently downloaded the zip and later updated and did some work on a route. But when I saved and closed out everything seemed fine, but when I open the route editor back up all my changes are gone.

            Check your settings.
            For what it's worth, here's mine.
            writeEnabled = true
            writeTDB = true
            You will also have problems if you did not follow the MSTS install instructions at the Steam4Me site.
            regards,

              Vince, Do you happen to have any problems using Goku's terrain painting tools and not being able to reopen the route at all in the old MSTS RE? When I try to use the paint on terrain tool and save it breaks MSTS RE. This is most frustrating!

                Hi Robert,
                I have used the terrain paint in a few spots on the LIRR a while back as a test but didn't have problems opening the route later on in TSRE. I painted only on a single terrain patch.
                I also tested it on the Europe 2 route there painting a much larger area on several terrain patches. Again, no trouble opening in the MSRE.

                I recall a note in the TSRE manual that cautions against excessive use of terrain painting as it generates 'lots of files' but I'm note sure what Goku means by 'lots'.
                regards,

                  I tried painting 8 tiles with a concrete texture because I am placing a very large nuclear power plant on my route. The MSTS RE goes belly up every time.

                    How do I get the compass in the TSRES window so I know where I am going?

                    Comment

                      There is no compass. Goku said he would include one in a future release.

                      Tip: The initial screen when a route is opened in TSRE is facing South.

                      and for more precise camera movement enter the following in the TSRE Settings.txt file:

                      cameraSpeedMin = 15
                      cameraSpeedStd = 0.20
                      cameraSpeedMax = 3

                      Min Speed is keyboard arrow keys + SHIFT key.
                      Std Speed is keyboard arrow keys.
                      Max Speed is keyboard arrow keys + CTRL key.

                      Works for me. Set any speeds you want in there to suit your needs.
                      I wanted nice and slow for normal speed. You may want something different and the settings is there for you to experiment.

                      Having almost completed re-tracking the entire PRR East Region route Philadelphia area tile I can state TSRE is a quite WONDERFUL editor.

                      It WILL however require some practice to learn all it's many new features. Took me about a months work, well spent.
                      I'd suggest a good way to learn is to mod one on the old default MSTS routes. Enjoy!

                      regards,

                        If I may make a few requests:

                        1. The ability to deselect an object simply by clicking in a clear area, instead of having the currently selected object "jump" to the cursor.
                        2. Continue with route loading even if one or more main route files are missing or temporarily renamed (carspawner.dat, for example).
                        3. Having a red bounding box highlight an object as your mouse moves across it. This will aide in heavily sceniced areas.
                        4. Thicken the blue bounding box for an object ir order to better see it on screen.

                        As I begin to get a handle on how things work, I'm finding productivity starting to improve. This is turning out to be a wonderful asset to building routes (my favorite feature thus far is the raising and lowering of an object via the mouse wheel). My only wish is that this had been introduced many years earlier.
                        Cheers!

                            When I click to a clear area after rotating and positioning (R and T keys), the object jumps to the cursor position.

                              First you have to press "E" (select/deselect), then click to a clear area.
