Is TSRE Better @ Route Building Than Earlier MS-Add On?

As The Question States, Is TSRE Better @ Making A Route Than what MSTS has as a Add-On in Editor & Tools? I once wanted to Upgrade a Route once, but the way it looked, & how much "Trouble" it looked like, plus what I read I just never did. Then, there's RXR Signal Upgrading too, would it Upgrade Them?

I have no experience with TSRE, (Railworks guy since 2012) but I can say it's far superior to the original MSTS editor. No idea regarding the RXR Signal Upgrade. The learning curve for TSRE might be a little more complex than the MSTS editor, but in the end using TSRE will produce a better route. Best way to go is using OR and TSRE. I don't know if there is now a official users manual........ If not, you'll have to ask on OR & TSRE forums regarding problems you encounter, and you might end up throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what works.

Not an "official" manual but here's a generally accepted excellent manual that Pete Willard took the time to put together.

Git Hub is the repository -- it is downloadable -- https://github.com/pwillard/TSRE5-Do...aster/book.pdf

Tsre is a great improvement over the old Microsoft editor, and while it does automate some things that used to be really cumbersome, the overall amount of effort needed to modify an existing route or create a new one hasn't really changed.

That and it doesn't crash every time you click on something.
I never could get MSRE to work. Probably a mind block.

Honestly ( I use to activity editor all the time and have crashed from time to time ) what does scare me about it...is that it is not totally isolated from route building functions...there should be NO accidental chance of changing anything in the route while working with the activities editor.

If I'm not very careful, somehow, I've made changes to the route without knowing it...when asked to save the route...I always decline...and as another safeguard I have "writeTDB = false" written in the setting text file.

I'm not being critical of Goku, it's that he's so very familiar with the TSRE and also a talented coder and brilliant to boot, that he expects others to work with the same ease and fluency that he has with the program, which is unrealistic...I'm a careful technician...but sometimes I grow an extra thumb or two and mistakes happen.

The reason they were connected is because Goku had this vision of super-dynamic activity creation where the activity creator would have been able to induce missing track so as to create the perception of out-of-service track for maintenance and or derailment repair reasons. And we all have viewpoints as to whether the questionable visual 'gains' outweigh the 'costs' of inadvertant TDB/ACT intrusion.
