What was being corrected was an old format that allowed for mixing feet with inches, and the original MSTS Kuju SD40 used that style of notation.

Normalizing/converting those values is the only way to correctly calculate the consist length and tonnage.

What's entered in the wag or eng file can be whatever accepted measurement you want, and in TSRE you can change the display to Imperial if you'd rather see that vs. Metric.

But.... TSRE shouldn't be altering the wag or eng files. It's only supposed to be adjusting what's displayed in TSRE. If the files are being updated, that's not intended behavior.

OK, I can't be 100% sure of what might have happened here (if anything other than my memory failed ha). I could re-download the files later to test and be sure.

I checked out backup copies, as well as the original zip file. All my back ups are correct; the original zip file isn't. So I must have made the change some time ago. Tyler's ATSF SD39 pack has the same problem. I have used those and remember correcting them, so maybe I did the IC SD40s in the same time frame. And I did notice that the inertia tensor is still in ft even though I changed the size to m, so maybe that's what I noticed the last time I scanned the IC SD40 eng files. At any rate, it doesn't appear that TSRE auto corrects.

By design, the Consist Editor only touches consist files, so auto-correct wouldn't really apply to wag/eng files.

              TSRE5 v8005e (Test version)

Hi, I would like to report an issue regarding the TSRE5 Route Editor program. When I start the program and load the specified map, the program crashes immediately when I try to place an object with a non-square texture on the map.

It would be beneficial if future test versions of the program could also handle objects with non-square textures.

Thank you for answering and hope to fix this issue.

              Sincerely,
              KS44HUN

Well.... the standard for an ACE texture is square and a resolution that is divisible by 2.

Open Rails also supports rectangular textures with sides divisible by 2. Is this supported by TSRE 8.xxx?

Hmm. Compared to the square texture being the standard, the cab is full of non-square textures. Just think about the different indicators.
If it's soil texture, I think it's fine. But for a building, or even a fence, it seems quite wasteful to me.

New update added -- listing of files used by the route being opened as well as a listing of files not being used but present in the route's Shapes folder. This can be useful for cleaning up a route for distribution, and is similar to a legacy RouteRiter function.

Okay, stupid question (on my part). Where are the newer versions of TSRE. I am still running a very stable, but limited edition 08---02 and I would like to start using a more current version, but only one that is considered stable. Just in case of issues, can I keep what I am using and at the same time install a new version?

Yes, after searching some more, I found that comment. Also I answered my question about concurrent versions. What I downloaded was the 00F version and I just copied it's folder into my "K" drive and then indicated to where Global etc. was located and it opened my route okay. Some features will be very valuable and I think latest one about counting objects in use or not in use will be really great when ready to release a route. At this point I have all tracks & major roads in my 2nd district, CNO&TP route done. I will release as a complete but probably not super-detailed route with the only thing left to learn a lot about is signal placement. There are also a couple of new control points put in since I worked at SR and I will get that from the SR Historical group. I hope that group eventually has CDs of track charts to sell like the L&NHS of which I am a member. I have all the NS & SR charts I need and have bought a number of CDs from the L&N group, This route has about 40 miles of track that was eliminated, along with many tunnels, with the last revision completed in 1963. I've also included several independent railroads that once connected. The oldest is the Emory River, abandoned in 1947. My virus checker is ESET which my supplier recommended and it took it several seconds to decide that the TSRE folder was"safe".

I hope you are doing okay YellowDog. I remember a nice visit with you in 2002 or 3 when the L&NHS had their annual meeting in Kingsport. I am not sure if much is left of Unicoi though?

Oh this is neat, thanks for adding this feature Eric.

The same functionality for the textures folder would be quite useful as well. If that's possible to do of course. 😀
