My god that switchstand is fantastic! Looks just like the ones used here in the CSX depot yard.
And yes Dan, CSX does use some concrete track in south Georgia, the new second main turnout in Folkston, GA and the old AB&C mainline come to mind im sure theres quite a bit more.
By the way what lines did you run on while working for CSX, did you ever run the former SAL Abbeville Sub by chance?

FWIW, it's not the mountain sub...

The tracks shown are for an in-house project to be named later.
        Cheers!

No doubt this route will be Payware and although it's tracks can be used in other routes, replacing existing ones, downloaders of such routes would have to have them installed, having purchased your route, the same as is the case with anything supplied by other Payware vendors ?

                So it should be.

I am going to give users of downloaded from my web site completed US routes Tracks-Changer choices for individual routes and if they have RS-ScaleRail installed then they can switch to them, the same as they can change to MAINLINE-LIGHT or modern concrete ties tracks, if they so wish !

Here we have modern high-speed welded tracks with manual switch stands:

The only welded tracks I know of in the U.S. is parts of the NEC that the Acela runs on. We are so far behind in railroading compared to Europe and Japan. Mostly wooden ties and regular track in Mexico,U.S. and Canada!

From Bill Wimmer: building Union Pacific:
The C&NW began laying continuous welded rail in 1957
                    .
Much of modern Union Pacific track is CWR.

The Cajon Pass has been updated with concrete ties tracks not so long ago and so it seems have other routes:
Sunday, September 7, 2008 Rochelle Railroad Park Rochelle, Illinois www.rochellerailroadpark.org On the left, good, old fashioned wood ties and iron spikes hold the tracks to four feet, eight and one half inches apart. On the right, the new fangled CXT concrete ties.

Below is a concrete ties track a US friend sent me a picture of back in 2004 !

The beauty of a train simulator is that you can make the tracks of any route look like what you want, subject to availability. Concrete ties tracks are my favorites and having a Tracks-Changer to change tracks can be replaced by whatever available type of tracks the user prefers !

Otto not to put too fine a point on it - but in Northern Va. where I live CSX does NOT use concrete ties and high quality welded rail - VRE is paying them them to renew tracks and a 3rd mainline track from Fredericksburg to Washington Union Station - unfortunately they are using wooden ties with fish plates and the welded rail (at least what is visible from Alexandria Station and L'Enfant station appears to have at least some recyled stick rail in it...
CSX - aka Lionel Lines... Worst record in the DC area of passenger rail (VRE - Amtrak - MARC) support...

Actually they are used all over the place - BNSF and UP transcons - Metro North commuter zones (including the NEC) - MBTA Colony lines - Welded Rail (but not concrete ties) on VRE (NS and CSX) in DC - NJT to Atlantic City

There isn’t one class one railroad in the US that doesn’t use continuous welded rail, nothing new as many railroads started installing CWR many decades ago.

By the way Europe and Japan don’t even come close to running the tonnage that a typical freight train has here in the US. Ever see what repeated pounding from 14,000 tons does to infrastructure?
