Let's not start getting salty Sean. I never said I didn't enjoy Run 8 and as I drive it I am really liking Donner. I've spent about 2 hours on it so far today. But that's not to say there isn't scope for improvement...just as the other sims also have aspects they could do better.

Yep.... RoysTrainz was the name of the developer, Vern.
That was the last Trainz route I bought, in fact. He did a very good job with it.

I have access to all 7 of Roy's CP routes, with my Gold membership.

Really good creations. Back on topic, thanks for the overview and thoughts Vern.

If it had joined to the existing routes i have. I might have overlooked the scenic deficiencies.

That is one of the main things i did like about Run8, the joined up thinking.

You are a customer and interested in Run8 so constructive criticism is certainly warranted. However I take exception of my so called prejudice against TSW while another user here excpects Run8 to be what is the so called "standard" of train simulaiton in 2022. My issue isn't even with that user. My issue is the hyprocicy of that kind of treatment to a fellow participating member of Train-Sim that's all. I'll leave it at that.

Getting myself back on topic, as for the new route I'm sure it will be very enjoyable and improved on over time. I'm saving my money for the Fitzgerald Sub as it will be a great expansion to the opeations and beauty in the south east.

I'm also very curious what other things the Run8 team has down the road for other routes and/or regions.

BTW does anyone know if this route has working AEI detectors? I know the actual hot box detectors work as AEI but they are not aloways positioned where you need them like traditional AEI detectors are. The SW I don't reall seeing them.

          Thanks

Did I miss something about a map? Despite all the work I'm doing in the SE I'm seriously considering this. For me I would simply need to know what trains run the area (I'm not worried if it's the SP UP era either).

Obviously the beauty of the area is important but it all comes down to workload. These days we have a few regulars in the SE but it's difficult to serve anything south of Jacksonville. That's not the end of the world either but just something to consider on my end.

At first I thought no because I've put too much work into the SE, but I have been thinking about this more. I haven't even touched the YouTube videos of it I'm sure that will get me even more excited of the possibility.

            Thanks

There is a Depot style schematic supplied by Run 8 (goes into the usual manual/docs folder) shows the main track layout and industry locations.

If it’s effectively part of the package I wouldn’t want to reproduce it here and breach copyright. Perhaps we can tag Dale or Jason see whether they can check with Brad or John if it’s okay to do so?

Edit: You can actually view the map from the Run 8 site route page:

Scroll down to just under the DS board image for a link to the pdf.

Wow that is lots of good detailed information on the map. Nothing to do with the quality, but I'm not a big fan of double track operations. I'd be curious to see how the AI treats those center sidings and will slower traffic pull over or allow passengers and higher priority traffic to overtake them. If the later is true, then this give me tons to think about.

I love the SE and I'm lookking forward to Fitzgerald. But it takes quite a bit of manpower vs what I see here and given a smaller group this seems more inviting.

Even the NE is cool but the double track has always been an operation I'm not too keene on.

                      Thanks

Otto is doing interesting things. Doing his favourite trick of alternating trains in the same direction between Track 1 and Track 2 instead of keeping them behind each other. This led to a bit of a dog knot at Norden in the Busy SS session, where I had to intervene and delete a couple of trains in a stand off due to the short sidings. So while yes technically it's double track, Otto is playing it like it's two single tracks.

On the Roseville Sub and if you go into the AI generator you will see spawn points with 5300 .These are trains that will spawn at 5300ft a work around for trains of an earlier era when they weren't monsters of today at between 8 and 14000 ft long.
The power on these 5300 ft trains is also old skhool with Dash 9's and tunnel motors. The other spawn points with the same name but not having the 5300 is more modern trains and they get spawned in at who know what different lengths.
Yes Otto likes to keep traffic moving till it hits a wall
                          Work Safe play hard

                            Hi Vern,
Can you show the path to these maps as I can't seem to find them.
                            Cheers,
