I am not personally interested in NA steam locomotives. But i would like to see 1960's era diesels and rolling stock, in R8.

I agree that a confirmation on overwrite would be a nice quality of life feature.
And on a similar note when using the industry editor, if you attempt to create a new industry that already exists, there's no warning of this in the UI.

Good point about the industry, Jack. I reverted to the default config after finding The Depot one and Very Populated… just too overwhelming. I’ve been adding a few locations of my own, mainly down at Trona which is not populated in the standard game and must admit never checked if my abbreviations conflicted with existing locations elsewhere.Vern.

If you go to this folder: :\Run8Studios\Run8 Train Simulator V3\Content\V3Routes\Regions\SouthernCA\AutoSaves and look at the AutoSaves files, look at the time stamps. If you're lucky enough and find a date and time that you think may have the save prior to the "mistake", you should be able to load that AutoSave file in the sim. If successful, then do a proper WorldSave. The only caveat of this is if the AutoSave was set at all (off) or short save times. Less chance at 2min saves versus 10min saves. I've had to do this a few times. Check the AutoSave files...might get lucky. In the sim the AutoSaves have time stamps also.

The autosave would be helpful if Vern had accidentally loaded a file over his current session.
Instead, Vern saved his current session to an out of the box save file that he didn't intend to, thereby overwriting the out of the box save file with his current world.
At that point the Auto save AND the overwritten file would be the same, and the only way of getting the original back would be a reinstall (or restoring from backup.)

Basically that is what probably happened, mainly because for some reason the highlight had moved from my named save to one of the defaults and Doofus here overwrote it. Not the end of the world, but like I say if John could incorporate a little routine to either write protect the default files and/or an extra prompt when overwriting an existing save, might save a spot of bother later on.Vern.
