The usual ones from me. Terrain texture and foliage needs a massive overhaul. Let’s get it looking at least like early TSC.
The ability to spawn trains at a specific time.
Proper passenger operations including running to a timetable and having the consist run round or reverse to form the next outgoing service.
E-commerce. Let’s have proper user accounts with the ability to easily see and re-download what we already own.
Consider an occasional seasonal sale particularly for older V1 or V2 items.
Some older vintage locos like F units or Alco’s, maybe take a stab at steam.Last edited by NorthernWarrior; 11-09-2024, 16:12.Vern.

Could add to that maybe something with electric traction, too. Also what happened to the Alaska route which was rumoured at one time and maybe something from Canada.Vern.

The other one that came to mind was filling in the gaps at LA, specifically Antelope Valley, down towards Long Beach and the route between LA and San Bernardino which just came out with TSW5. Then give us some Metrolink equipment and, as noted above, the ability to plan and operate to timetable actual passenger workings.Vern.

I'd like a tooltip type pop-up that shows destination when you hover over the lead engine's origin/destination code just as a memory jog (I don't always have the info in front of me when I start the sim up)...so CHISTO would pop up as "Chicago-Stockton" etc. for BNSF and UP if possible (CSX in the SE would be good too). Also is there anyway to make typing in a destination code when you're labelling a consist to be contextually idiot proof/auto correct so that I don't mess up the 'paperwork' and have Otto all over me like white on rice?

Actually on a similar note Leaf, I'd like to be able to interrogate and organise NPC trains without having to relinquish the one I'm driving, whether it's to despatch towards the correct destination or just to see what wagons and vans are being represented by the default boxcars.
Oh and the big doozy for me, If a consist is marshalled and coupled up with brake hoses attached, please save that state and load on resuming the game. Let's not have all the trains in a raw uncoupled, unprepared state.Vern.

All joking aside, i do not have enough knowledge about NA rail operations. To request those sorts of features. All i know is the driving immersion experience, graphics wise is way below what i expect in a relatively modern version of a game.
Hence why it isn't installed and i do not play it that often. I can get the same satisfaction from running OR and it costs me nothing.

The other thing I find having played Railroader a bit, is that even doing the industry side Run 8 can be a bit abstract. Not saying go down the DTG path of action points and all that crap, but some means of creating scenarios that give an end goal might add to the appeal. Again we are talking V4 here which is really going to need to knock the socks off to justify parting with the (probable) $50 or $60 it will end up costing.Vern.
