Crack on Vern, you have to do what keeps you entertained buddy. I installed Run8, played it for a couple of hours and the switch flicked in my head and it was gone. Never got to see Baldwin or use my new coaching stock. I have a big 400 mile DLC in TRS22 (Midwestern Rails) with my RRmods Dash 9's that i am very happy with.
Have fun Vern, for tomorrow we die 🤣🤣🤣.

I do sometimes think with Run 8 it comes back to the graphics and 2D trees. Yes we have been told why and I understand the emphasis on operations and view from the cab or ground. But when you fly along the Florida route to see what work needs doing at the next industry or yard, that narrow corridor of foliage then just bare terrain beyond starts to grate a bit.
Once again I hasten to add no disrespect to the sim or the route builders who do what they do to keep it optimised. However looking at those TRS22 pictures you posted earlier, imagine how much better Run 8 would be if it came up to that standard.Vern.

Yeah graphics and trees to an extent. But also too much messing about for me Vern. Not the driving that is easy, but knowing all these tags and hoping i have it correct so Otto routes me too where i want to go etc. Industry stuff just goes way over my head and i have industries in TRS22 which are much easier to use and understand. Plus the driving physics are really excellent now.
Yup no disrespect at all to any of the developers of Run8, operations are very good. The hump yard operations are great, but of course programmable hump yards are also in TRS22 now. Both sims are far better than Dirge Tail Games offerings. TSC is all about keeping an old game going to milk it, with very little development. TSW is all about graphics and collecting stupid stuff to make points and awards. That is not a sim, it's an out and out game for the console kiddies.
Agree R8 does need to move a little bit with the times, in regards graphics. Just not make it the numero uno focus.

Must admit the CSX tags and train numbering do my head in a bit. There's a few of the three letter destination tags listed over at The Depot but not comprehensive then there's this page https://railroadfan.com/wiki/index.p..._Train_Symbols
that has listings for headcodes, but then how do you know Run 8 recognises all those and will route correctly?
So must admit tonight I loaded it up and felt a bit burned out. Again, that "Very Populated..." session done by the guy over at The Depot is a labour of love, but just too many trains to get my head round. So going off to finish a steam run in TSC, then will try and pop the default industry file back into the SE Region and just use one of the default sessions or spawn in my own trains.Vern.

Sure i replied to your post yesterday and now it's gone, in fact i know i did. I am not that bloody senile..........YET 🤣🤣.
Like all the games, too much play nearly always results in burn out Vern. Specially the train games, because they are so repetitive.
Like i said yesterday in my reply, i like the Very Populated sessions as they give me loads of AI to see. When i am trundling down the mainline. Plus in regards with R8 you do not know what the AI will consist of. Where as in TSC and Trainz, you know because you have to place them yourself.
