    Rare Power in Bow, NH

Along with the NHB coal trains is a coal train (PWBO) from Providence and Worcester. Normally, P&W brings the train to Lowell where the P&W power is taken off, and Guilford power is out in it's place. But not on this train. The P&W locomotives, for the first time, hauled the train all the way up to the power plant in Bow, NH. The lashup was B39-8, C30-7B, C30-7B, B39-8. I had been asking my dad to take me up.. and I eventually got lucky.
    Enjoy the shots!

ha! they've been borrwin NS C40-9Ws and anything they bring with them on the coal trains... There was a BNSF C44-9W floating around Mass for almost 2 weeks before it finally went home. I'm surprised P&W even let their engines on GRS, cause they have a bad habit of borrowing locomotives, and not returning them for a long time...

Neat stuff! Interesting horn mount location as well. I'm sure the conductor's ears will be ringing after listening to that R-S3L right behind him all day.
